Race Four : (759) - HKU FACULTIES OF DENTISTRY AND SOCIAL SCIENCES HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 FUN N FUN TOGETHER (J232) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 3 SIGHT HAPPY (J261) B Avdulla Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced.
Horse No 6 MAGNIAC (H141) C L Chau A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 ROBOT KNIGHT (H464) E C W Wong A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Before being allowed to race again, ROBOT KNIGHT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 EURO ROCKS (H153) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 YEE CHEONG RAIDER (J176) A Atzeni Shifted out at the start and as a result made contact with the hindquarters of SIGHT HAPPY.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 PATCH OF WATCH (H476) P N Wong When questioned Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to endeavour to lead the event.
She said on jumping PATCH OF WATCH bounded and lost ground after which she then commenced to ride the horse along.
She said when she identified FUN N FUN TOGETHER racing in advance of her, she elected to continue to ride her mount forward to follow that runner as she was aware that FUN N FUN TOGETHER is a horse that can race in an on-pace position.
She added that after improving behind FUN N FUN TOGETHER near the 900 Metres, that runner continued forward and crossed ROBOT KNIGHT which then resulted in PATCH OF WATCH racing wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
She said PATCH OF WATCH throughout the event hung in and also raced keenly.
Horse No 12 HINOKAMI KAGURA (H384) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.

Hinokami Kagura settled better than midfield on the rails and surged to the lead 120m out for a first win at his 18th start. He had been knocking on the door and appreciated the light weight in a higher grade for this run. Yee Cheong Raider ran on strongly with two wider out for second after making his run second last from gate 10. It was a solid effort at his first run on the surface following a nosebleed in February. Sensationally backed Fashion Legend ran on nicely through the centre to take third after making his run fourth last. He was suited by the wet-fast track conditions despite a step back in distance. Early favourite Fun N Fun Together succumbed late after surging to the lead 220m out following a speed-tracking run outside Hong Kong Hall. He couldn't rise to the challenge carrying seven pounds more following a win. Well-backed Meepmeep surged late down the outside for fifth after making his run at the rear from gate 12. He's better suited over a mile trip on this surface.
