Joy Of Spring settled one off in midfield before rushing to the lead 200m out and keeping on on gamely for a fourth win and two on the bounce from 17 starts. He was able to hold his form after a win last start at the Valley. Gentlemen Legacy ran on nicely down the outside for second after a wide trip with cover travelling behind midfield. He's building towards a win with placings in back-to-back runs. Winning Wing kept on gamely for third despite working like a trojan wide without cover sitting near the front from gate 13. Punted late Star Mac ran on well for fourth after a rails run from midfield. He's a good money spinner for connections. Rocket Spade dashed late near the inside for fifth after settling last from gate 11. Veteran Money Catcher gradually faded after tracking the speed from gate 12. He's not far off a bottom. Charity Together ran on nicely through the centre to just miss a pay cheque after making his run one from the rear. Favourite Liveandletlive was gassed 200m out after driving to the front 1,050m out.

Horse No 2 ENTHRALLED (K252) Z Purton Bumped at the start.

Near the 300 Metres was contacted on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 ROCKET SPADE (G170) H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 4 PACKING TURBINE (J470) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.

Bumped approaching the 1100 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 WINNING WING (K129) H T Mo Approaching the 1100 Metres shifted in and bumped with PACKING TURBINE.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 6 LIVEANDLETLIVE (K156) Y L Chung After the event Y L Chung stated that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead by MONEY CATCHER and gave ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of LIVEANDLETLIVE was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.

Before being allowed to race again, LIVEANDLETLIVE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

B Avdulla was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 300 Metres (see MIGHTY STRENGTH).

Horse No 12 CHARITY TOGETHER (K254) B Thompson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 150 Metres was directed to the outside of LIVEANDLETLIVE to obtain clear running.

For a short distance near the 100 Metres CHARITY TOGETHER then had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind MONEY CATCHER.

Horse No 13 MIGHTY STRENGTH (H450) M F Poon B Avdulla (STAR MAC) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 300 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of MIGHTY STRENGTH, resulting in MIGHTY STRENGTH being badly crowded for room and having to be checked and being taken out onto PACKING HURRICANE which was also checked and taken out, resulting in PACKING HURRICANE making contact with ENTHRALLED, resulting in ENTHRALLED becoming unbalanced.

B Avdulla was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 9 July 2025 and to expire on Thursday, 17 July 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays).

In addition, B Avdulla was fined $60,000.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very poor race riding record.
