Lo Pan Spirit rolled to the lead 900m out from gate one and kept up a strong gallop for a third win at this level from 17 starts. He was suited by both a downgrade and an ideal draw. Igor Stravinksy stayed on nicely for second at juicy odds after a prominent run on the fence. It was clearly his best run from five starts following a downgrade and step back to 1,200m. Circuit Victory ran on well for third after a wide with cover trip travelling worse than midfield. He was able to back up a third last start in this grade following a win. Awesome Treasure finished a distant fourth after sitting three wide without cover from gate 12. He should find his mark shortly in the grade. All's Well was doing his best work late to just miss fourth prize money after making his run three from the rear. It was a typical run on without threatening performance.

Approaching the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded between LIGHTNING ARROW and LUCKY MCQUEEN which lay out and away from LO PAN SPIRIT.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 LO PAN SPIRIT (J233) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 CHAMPION INSTINCT (H012) A Atzeni Raced very wide and without cover in the early and middle stages.

Horse No 4 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) L Ferraris Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 5 GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY (K002) M L Yeung Shifted out on jumping, made contact with RADIANT SWIFT and became unbalanced.

In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 750 Metres was steadied away from CIRCUIT VICTORY.

After the event M L Yeung stated that from a wide barrier his mount settled further back in the field than intended.

He added in the Home Straight GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY found it difficult to make up ground which he felt was due to the horse being disadvantaged by settling further back in the field and in the circumstances he was not too disappointed with its performance.

Horse No 7 GOLDEN BRILLIANT (K347) H Bentley Shortly after the start made contact with RADIANT SWIFT and became unbalanced.

Near the 600 Metres was steadied when it lay in and away from ARGENTO OCEAN.

Horse No 8 LIGHTNING ARROW (K360) C L Chau On jumping made contact with ALL'S WELL and shortly after then bumped with IGOR STRAVINSKY.

Leaving the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid LUCKY MCQUEEN.

Approaching the 400 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between CHAMPION INSTINCT and CIRCUIT VICTORY and after making contact with CIRCUIT VICTORY was shifted to the inside of CHAMPION INSTINCT to obtain clear running.

Horse No 9 LUCKY MCQUEEN (K064) M F Poon In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 800 Metres got its head up when being checked away from SUPER UNIVERSAL.

After the event M F Poon stated that his mount was disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and he could offer no explanation for its performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 YOUNG LEGACY (K465) K Teetan When placed under pressure in the Home Straight lay in and raced ungenerously.
