Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (807) - BETTER FUTURE 1600M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 WINNING GOLD (H461) J Orman Near the 150 Metres was checked when crowded between GOOD LUCK BABE which shifted out slightly after being bumped by GLORIOUS SUCCESS and FLYING LUCK (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in as it hung in.
After considering the evidence Apprentice Wong was reprimanded and advised whilst the Stewards were satisfied that he had made an endeavour to prevent his mount from shifting in, in the circumstances he should have made a greater effort to avoid crowding the running of WINNING GOLD.
Horse No 2 EXCELLENCE VALUE (K093) Z Purton Slow to begin.
Near the 100 Metres Z Purton was obliged to correct his mount when it shifted in towards SUPREME MASTERMIND.
Horse No 3 YUEN LONG ELITE (J272) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 FLYING LUCK (J339) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433) B Avdulla After the event B Avdulla reported that his mount enjoyed a comfortable run during the race but did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight and he could offer no explanation for its performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS (H170) B Thompson After the event B Thompson reported that his mount raced too keenly in the middle stages and came under pressure prior to entering the Home Straight before giving ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 FIVEFORTWO (K381) K C Leung Jumped only fairly and then raced tight between FLYING LUCK and GOOD LUCK BABE.
The performance of FIVEFORTWO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, FIVEFORTWO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 KINGDOM OF RICHES (K079) H T Mo After the event H T Mo reported that it was not the intention to lead but his mount raced keenly in the early stages and led without him pressuring the horse to do so.
He said due to the manner in which KINGDOM OF RICHES raced it set a faster tempo in the early stages than he had intended.
The performance of KINGDOM OF RICHES, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, KINGDOM OF RICHES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 9 SUPREME MASTERMIND (K387) A Badel Slow to begin.
Approaching the 100 Metres was checked when crowded between EXCELLENCE VALUE and FRANTANCK which was taken out by WINNING GOLD which shifted out after being checked.
Horse No 10 GLORIOUS SUCCESS (K062) K Teetan Approaching the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of YUEN LONG ELITE to obtain clear running and made contact with GOOD LUCK BABE.
After the event K Teetan stated that the instructions were to hold a more forward position but his mount did not show sufficient pace to do so despite riding it along in the early stages.
Horse No 11 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) Y L Chung Made contact with a rail when entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passe suitable to race.
Approaching the 150 Metres was bumped by GLORIOUS SUCCESS.
Horse No 12 KA YING SUPERB (J091) M F Poon Approaching the 500 Metres raced tight between GOOD LUCK BABE and WINNING GOLD which lay in.
Horse No 13 FRANTANCK (H429) A Atzeni Raced keenly after being crossed by KA YING SUPERB near the 1200 Metres.
Approaching the 100 Metres was hampered and taken out by WINNING GOLD.
Horse No 14 ILLUMINOUS (J170) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

Rolling Arrangement Rolling after Race 5 was cancelled due to weather condition.

Punted late Yuen Long Elite had a prominent wide run without cover from gate 14 for the whole trip but kept finding after improving to lead rounding the final bend for a third win and second this term from 13 starts. Favourite Flying Luck ran on nicely despite wandering under pressure to grab second 80m out after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over 1,600m. Glorious Success ran on well for third after a rails run from behind midfield. He keeps racing well without winning. Good Luck Babe stayed on for fourth without threatening the top three after a prominent run on the fence. It was his best effort. Excellence Value came from last and widest out for fifth. It was another honest effort. Illuminous was doing his best work late near the inside after biding his time two from the rear. Magnificent Nine peaked on his run 150m out after a rails run from midfield. It was a below par run. Winning Gold gave up when copping a check 150m out following a wide with cover trip from better than midfield.
