Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (800) - UNCOMPROMISING INTEGRITY 1400M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 FORTUNATE SON (J446) Z Purton Leaving the 500 Metres was eased when briefly held up behind LUCKY YEAR.
Near the 50 Metres made contact with LAKESHORE HERO due to both runners shifting ground.
After the event Z Purton stated that his mount would be benefited by being stepped back up in distance for its next race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SPIRIT OF PEACE (K007) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 FLAGSHIP WARRIOR (G452) A Hamelin From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 700 Metres commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied to avoid GLORIOUS RYDER.
FLAGSHIP WARRIOR then continued to race keenly and near the 500 Metres again shifted out when being steadied away from BOWSER.
Horse No 4 MIGHTY STEED (J384) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.
Approaching the 1000 Metres raced keenly and was steadied when being crossed by MAGIC COMBO.
Near the 350 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of MAGIC COMBO when MAGIC COMBO shifted out slightly.
After the event A Atzeni reported that his mount jumped only fairly and as a result settled further back than anticipated.
He added in the Home Straight the horse was unable to make up any appreciable ground when placed under pressure.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 BOWSER (H460) K Teetan After the event K Teetan stated that his mount was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the race and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 CHINA WIN (K395) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
Briefly held up for clear running approaching the 400 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 LUCKY YEAR (K443) B Thompson Bumped at the start.
Horse No 9 BULL ATTITUDE (K305) L Ferraris Kicked a rail at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
After the event L Ferraris stated that from a wide barrier he was provided with the option of taking up a forward position and lead if the circumstances permitted.
Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 10 SILVER UP (J078) M L Yeung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the finish raced tight between SPIRIT OF PEACE and CHINA WIN.
Horse No 12 LAKESHORE HERO (J288) K De Melo Near the 50 Metres made contact with FORTUNATE SON due to both runners shifting ground.
After the event K De Melo reported that his mount made a respiratory noise after the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, LAKESHORE HERO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 13 MAGIC COMBO (K213) H T Mo Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Following a prominent run on the fence, Spirit Of Peace hit the lead 80m out and just scrambled in for a second win and first at Sha Tin from nine starts. Debutant China Win ran on strongly to finish a close second after a rails run from behind midfield following a sluggish start. It was an eye-catching effort and he'll be winning races in no time. Silver Up made heaps of ground late for third after making his run second last from gate 11. He has honest 1,400m form. Punted late Bull Attitude grudgingly gave way after clearing to lead 850m out from gate 12. He has gone all right in two of his last three starts. Handsome Bomb whacked on one-paced for fifth after sitting third wide without cover from gate six. Flagship Warrior ran on without threatening down the outside after making his run at the rear from gate 14. Newcomer Lucky Year made some ground after a one-off trip from midfield. Favourite Fortune Son could not get a clear crack at them for a majority of the straight run following a patient ride three from the rear.
