Racing Incident Report
Race One : (808) - THE PURVES QUAICH (PLATE) - Class GRIFFIN - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 LIGHT YEARS GLORY (K204) M Chadwick In the early part of the Home Straight hung in and had difficulty obtaining clear running when it proved reluctant to shift to the outside of MOTOR.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 KING DANCE (K157) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 3 MAZING GRACE (K166) M L Yeung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 MOTOR (K165) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 SPARKLE AND GOLD (K259) C L Chau Raced greenly in the early stages and making the first turn lay out and shifted out and away from EMERGING STAR.
Horse No 7 ALABAMA SONG (K480) B Avdulla Near the 150 Metres lay out, resulting in its rider B Avdulla changing his whip through to his left hand.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 EMERGING STAR (K390) H T Mo Bumped shortly after the start.
A short distance later was steadied to avoid LIGHT YEARS GLORY (M Chadwick) which shifted in when not clear.
M Chadwick was severely reprimanded.
Approaching the first turn commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied away from YOUNG FIGHTER.
EMERGING STAR then hung out making the first turn and as a consequence raced wide and without cover thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 JUST FOLLOW ME (K332) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly.
Leaving the 900 Metres was eased when being crossed by YOUNG FIGHTER.
Approaching the 500 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced when SUPER DRAGON shifted to the outside of KING DANCE to commence a forward move.
Horse No 11 SUPER DRAGON (K389) L Ferraris After the event L Ferraris stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position but when his mount jumped only fairly it settled further back in the field.
He said approaching the first turn near the 900 Metres SUPER DRAGON, which was having it first race start, became badly unbalanced when reluctant to hold its position to the inside of JUST FOLLOW ME.
He said SUPER DRAGON then continued to race greenly for the remainder of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 WINNING CHAMPION (K429) M F Poon Near the 150 Metres was eased when crowded between MOTOR and ALABAMA SONG which shifted out abruptly.
After the event M F Poon stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position.
He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow WINNING CHAMPION to continue forward to avoid covering additional ground.

Following a prominent run on the fence, Alabama Song took control 80m out after getting the gap between runners at the 150m for a maiden win at his second start. Light Years Glory ran on nicely through the centre for second after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was another solid effort. Punted late, Field Marshal grudgingly gave way after dictating the pace from gate one. It was his best effort from three starts. Favourite Motor kept on one paced after settling third with cover one off the fence. It was another honest effort. Just Follow Me ran on well near the outside for fifth after a rails run from behind midfield. It was an encouraging debut performance. Winning Champion was on his tippy toes 100m out after a tactics change to track the leader.
