Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (823) - GREEN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 GLORIOUS JOURNEY (J137) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
In the early stages got its head up when being shifted across behind runners from its wide barrier.
Horse No 3 PRINCE ALEX (G307) H Bowman Bumped shortly after the start.
Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of RED MAJESTY.
Horse No 4 SMART TRIO (J538) K C Leung Near the 1100 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters by MEEPMEEP and as a result became unbalanced.
Horse No 5 OUR LUCKY GLORY (G292) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid MEEPMEEP.
After the event H Bentley reported that his mount was unsuited by the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time and as a result found it difficult to make up ground from back in the field.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) L Ferraris Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between RED MAJESTY and MIGHTY STEED which shifted in after making contact with SMART CITY.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 7 ACROSS DA UNIVERSE (J328) J Orman Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 8 MIGHTY STEED (J384) Y L Chung Shortly after the start was bumped heavily by SMART CITY and as a result became unbalanced, shifted in and made contact with TURIN WARRIOR.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 SMART CITY (J213) K Teetan On jumping shifted in and away from MEEPMEEP and made heavy contact with MIGHTY STEED.
Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
Horse No 10 RED MAJESTY (E028) A Hamelin Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 MEEPMEEP (H234) Z Purton Jumped awkwardly and then was corrected by its rider.
In the early stages raced keenly and approaching the 1100 Metres shifted out when being checked to avoid ACROSS DA UNIVERSE and as a result made contact with SMART TRIO and became unbalanced.
MEEPMEEP then continued to race keenly in the middle stages.
After the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of GLORIOUS JOURNEY to continue into clear running.
Horse No 12 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) B Thompson Bumped shortly after the start.

Handily placed one off the fence, Red Majesty moved to the lead 100m out and kept on gamely for a 10th win over the Valley 1,650m from 74 starts. He was a well-rated runner off 48 after starting the season with a second on a rating of 60. Well-backed late Mighty Steed wouldn't go down without a fight after dictating the run from gate seven. He's given a good shake in all three Valley 1,650m runs. Early favourite Capital Legend found a couple just too good after getting all favours in the box seat. It was another honest effort. Smart City gradually faded after a speed-tracking run from gate eight. It was another good run carrying more weight following a win. Prince Alex produced a grinding effort after a rails run from midfield. He needed the run after a nosebleed in March. Punted late to jump favourite Jumbo Fortune ran on without threatening after making his run fourth last from gate two. It was another honest effort in a race run to suit those on the speed. Glorious Journey made inroads late to finish next best after biding his time second last from gate 10.
