Recap by phillip woo

Circuit Mighty prompted the pace outside Supreme Winner from gate 11 and lifted late to reclaim the lead from Verbier after initially hitting the front 300m out for a fourth win and first this term from 45 local starts. He lived up to a near miss last start following a downgrade. Verbier succumbed late after moving to the lead 200m settling box seat following an early challenge for the lead. He has been a good money spinner for connections this term. Punted late Draco ran on late for third without threatening the top two after making his run five back and one off the fence from gate 14. My Flying Angel ran on well for fourth after a wide and with cover run from just worse than midfield. He has run with merit in two of three runs following a downgrade.

Horse No 8 VERBIER (J187) E C W Wong Near the 500 Metres made contact with POCHETTINO when being shifted out to improve.

Lay in over the final 200 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 POCHETTINO (J149) A Badel Approaching the 500 Metres was bumped by VERBIER which shifted to the outside of CIRCUIT MIGHTY to improve.

After the event A Badel could offer no excuse for the horse's disappointing performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 SUPREME WINNER (J255) P N Wong After the event Apprentice P N Wong stated that whilst the intention was to hold a forward position it was not to lead.

She said when caught wide in the early stages she elected to continue forward to cross runners to her inside which resulted in SUPREME WINNER leading the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 13 ORIENTAL TYCOON (J112) M F Poon Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded between CIRCUIT MIGHTY and WINNING SEVEN which was taken out by POCHETTINO (A Badel) when that runner shifted out and away from SUPREME WINNER.

A Badel was reprimanded and advised that he must endeavour to make more effort to straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear.

Horse No 14 WINNING SEVEN (J005) M Chadwick Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 12 TATTENHAM (H121) C L Chau Reared after being placed in the starting gates and got its right front leg over the partition for a considerable period.

Acting on veterinary advice that TATTENHAM was not suitable to race the horse was withdrawn by order of Stewards.

As this was the 4th occasion that TATTENHAM had been withdrawn at the starting gates on raceday due to its unacceptable barrier manners Trainer T P Yung advised the Stewards that he would now recommend to the owner that the horse be retired.

Should the owner not agree with this recommendation the Stewards would require him to make submissions as to why the horse should not retire.

Until such time the matter is finalised TATTENHAM is not permitted to start in any race or barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination if it is permitted to race again.
