Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (846) - LUCKY PATCH HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 MAGIC CONTROL (J333) K H Chan In the middle stages raced keenly.
Near the 700 Metres improved to the inside of BEAUTY WAVES and was steadied to avoid that runner when it shifted in slightly.
Over the concluding stages was unable to be ridden out by its rider K H Chan when he corrected his mount due to it shifting in towards RAGING BLIZZARD.
Horse No 2 RAGING BLIZZARD (H368) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Near the 250 Metres briefly raced tight to the inside of KAHOLO ANGEL which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of MAGIC CONTROL which shifted in when giving ground.
After the event H Bowman stated that his mount finished the race off satisfactorily in the Home Straight from back in the field and in the circumstances he was not too disappointed with the performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 BEAUTY WAVES (H294) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 MAJESTIC KNIGHT (G258) L Ferraris Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the event L Ferraris stated that the intention was to settle further back in the field.
He added that his mount jumped well and as a consequence raced in a more forward position.
Horse No 5 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) E C W Wong Making the Home Turn was steadied to avoid AERIS NOVA.
KAHOLO ANGEL was then shifted to the inside of AERIS NOVA where it obtained clear running near the 300 Metres.
Near the 250 Metres shifted in and was then corrected by its rider Apprentice E C W Wong.
Horse No 7 FULL CREDIT (J185) M F Poon In the early stages raced keenly.
After the event M F Poon reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 8 TOMODACHI KOKOROE (H303) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 BRAVE STAR (G268) K De Melo Bumped at the start.
Horse No 10 SELF IMPROVEMENT (H337) Y L Chung Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 11 AERIS NOVA (J534) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
Leaving the 600 Metres shifted in and away from FULL CREDIT and made contact with the running rail.
Horse No 12 STORM RIDER (J027) K Teetan Bumped at the start.

Favourite Beauty Waves never looked back after getting his own way in front from gate five to win in course-record time. He's improved after a stable change to win back-to-back runs. Plunged late in betting, Tomodachi Kokoroe stayed on nicely for second after a speed-tracking run from gate seven. He rarely produces a bad run at the Valley. Aurora Lady ran on nicely for third after a wide trip with cover travelling behind midfield from gate 12. He loves performing at the Valley. Kaholo Angel ran on near the inside for fourth after a patient ride three from the rear. It was another honest effort following back-toback wins. Magic Control only plodded after a box-seat run from gate two. It was an OK effort at his first start over the Valley 1,200m. Aeris Nova just held his ground after a rails run from midfield. It wasn't a bad run but he's more effective at Sha Tin. Raging Blizzard ran on without threatening along the inside after making his run one from the rear. He couldn't back up a runner-up result at Sha Tin last start. Majestic Knight faded after a prominent run wide without cover from gate nine.
