Super Sicario cleared to te lead 1,400m out from gate nine and ever looked back for a maiden win at his ninth start. He was suited by the downgrade after hovering around the finish in his final three starts last term. Perfecto Moments stayed on a close second after enjoying a lovely run in the box seat from gate one. It was clearly his best run from 12 starts off a career low in the handicaps. Favourite Wah May Wai Wai kept on evenly when asked for more after a speed-chasing run. He was anchored by the big weight despite a downgrade. Cool Blue ran on well for fourth after having to switch off heels 50m out following a patient ride one from the rear. It was another pleasing performance after ending last season with a win and third when retrying the Valley 1,650m. Punted late Harry's Hero just held his ground when asked for an effort after a rails run from midfield. He appeared to need the outing. It was a long way back to Yeaboi who made inroads late settling last from gate seven. Foremost Teddy found nothing in the run to the wire after a prominent run one off without cover for the first half of the race.

Horse No 7 COOL BLUE (H011) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 50 Metres was steadied to avoid WAH MAY WAI WAI and shifted to that runner's inside to continue into clear running.

Horse No 8 PERFECTO MOMENTS (J003) M L Yeung Held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 250 Metres.

Horse No 9 YEABOI (G372) M F Poon Slow to begin.

Approaching the 50 Metres M F Poon dropped his right rein for a number of strides.

After the event M F Poon stated that his mount did not stretch out during the running of the race and he had some concern with its action.
