Pope Cody just scrambled in after getting his head in front 100m out after a one-off trip from behind midfield for a first win at his seventh local start. He was able to brush aside an out-of-character effort on opening day following a step up to 1,600m. Master Trillion nearly got up near the outside to cause a boil over after making his run five back and one off the fence. He was successful in his only previous 1,600m run. Favourite Beauty Bolt had to settle for third after claiming the lead near the 100m following a one-out, one-back run. He was trying a mile trip for the first time after a 1,400m win. Fortune Boy came late down the outside for fourth after making his three from the rear. It was a pleasing effort up in grade following a win. The well-backed Yuen Long Elite wasn't beaten far in the end after sitting wide and without cover near the speed from gate 12.

Horse No 1 WINNING GOLD (H461) R Kingscote Blundered on jumping, shifted out and made contact with YUEN LONG ELITE.

Horse No 2 ATULLIBIGEAL (G173) H Bowman Slow to begin.

Near the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind PANACEA.

Horse No 3 SNOWFIELD (K251) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 4 YUEN LONG ELITE (J272) M L Yeung Bumped at the start.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 5 BEAUTY BOLT (K491) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 PANACEA (K256) D Probert Leaving the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid BEAUTY BOLT when racing keenly.

Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race.

Horse No 8 WINNING WING (K129) H T Mo After the event H T Mo stated that the instructions were to hold a more forward position but his mount did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so despite being ridden along.

Horse No 9 POPE CODY (K313) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 11 FLYING LUCK (J339) B Avdulla Between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 12 GREY CHARGER (K425) H Bentley Kicked out with its right hind leg and made contact with a parade ring partition.

Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found suitable to race.

After the event H Bentley stated that he was instructed to hold an on-pace position.

He added that when caught wide early he elected to continue forward to lead to avoid covering additional ground.

After the running of Race 5, the track classification for the turf course was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Firm" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 5 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm"

28 September 2025 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Races 2 (46) & 3 (47) As H Bowman was unable to make the weight of 126 lbs on MR DESIRA in Race 2 and on SMASHING EXPRESS in Race 3, he was fined the sum of $5,000.

Trainer D J Whyte was fined the sum of $5,000 for breaching the Track Work Regulations as a result of ACE POWER (J181) wearing the incorrect saddle cloth number during track work this morning.

ACE POWER worked in the Small All Weather Track wearing saddle cloth number J382, the allocated saddle cloth for BRAVE OF FRIENDS.

BRAVE OF FRIENDS subsequently worked in the Small All Weather Track wearing its correct saddle cloth number.

Trainer D A Hayes was fined the sum of $2,000 for entering L47 in a barrier trial at Conghua Racecourse on Monday, 29 September 2025 when that horse was not named at the time of entry.
