Race Five : (108) - SUN CHUI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 BLAZING WUKONG (K335) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 ALL ROUND WINNER (K382) B Avdulla Shortly after the start shifted out abruptly and became unbalanced when being corrected by its rider.
B Avdulla stated that from an inside barrier he had anticipated taking up a handy position to take advantage of the good barrier.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 VICTORY CHAMPION (K240) Z Purton Bumped shortly after the start.
Z Purton reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 LUCKY SAM GOR (K114) C L Chau Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 STRANGE ALERT (K278) H Bowman Between the 400 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running behind ALL ROUND WINNER.
Between the 150 Metres and the 100 Metres was held up for clear running.
Again over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to ALL ROUND WINNER.
Horse No 7 AUDACIOUS PURSUIT (K398) L Ferraris Raced wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres.
Approaching the 150 Metres was eased to avoid LUCKY SAM GOR (C L Chau) which shifted in when not quite clear.
C L Chau was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 8 RAINBOW SEVEN (K145) K C Leung Shortly after the start was checked to avoid MULTIDUTCH which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.
Horse No 9 SMART FAT CAT (K280) K Teetan Jumped only fairly and then was steadied when crowded by MULTIDUTCH which shifted out abruptly on jumping despite the efforts of its rider R Kingscote.
K Teetan reported that after receiving interference at the start he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated.
He added as a result SMART FAT CAT found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 MULTIDUTCH (K171) R Kingscote Shifted out abruptly on jumping and as a result was corrected by its rider.
Horse No 11 COME FAST FAY FAY (K121) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 12 GOR GOR (K104) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Shortly after the start was then steadied when crowded by ALL ROUND WINNER which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider B Avdulla.
Horse No 14 COLOURFUL WINNER (J312) M L Yeung Near the 350 Metres M L Yeung dropped his whip.
After the event M L Yeung could offer no excuse for his mount's failure to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Punted late Lucky Sam Gor was given a patient ride five back and one off the fence from gate 12 and after hitting the lead near the 100m, he edged clear for back-to-back wins from 10 starts. All Round Winner stayed on nicely for second after a prominent run one off the fence. It was a much-improved performance at his second 1,400m run down in Class Four this term. Blazing Wukong stayed on well for third after slotting one off with cover in midfield 900m out from gate 13. It was another good run carrying top weight this season. Audacious Pursuit ran on nicely for fourth after a wide trip travelling behind midfield from gate 14. He can bob up at any moment after making a good impression. Aeroinvincible had to settle for fifth after moving to the lead 300m out tracking the speed from gate 11. Strange Alert was next best after getting held up for a majority of the straight run following a rails run from midfield. He should have finished closer.
