Race Six : (119) - THE LONGINES CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 AURORA LADY (J066) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with SUPERB CAPITALIST.
Horse No 2 HORSEPOWER (J431) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.
Near the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid RED ELEGANCE when racing keenly.
Horse No 3 RED ELEGANCE (H241) H Bowman H Bowman stated that after commencing well RED ELEGANCE raced in a more forward position than what had been expected.
Horse No 4 SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.
Horse No 5 COLOURFUL KING (K227) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) K Teetan K Teetan stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result gave ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.

Youthful Spirits led and never looked back from gate four for just a second win from 24 local starts. He appreciated the light weight up in Class Two after placing in two earlier starts this term. Favourite Colourful King was closing with every stride for second after a patient ride second last from gate eight. He has sterling Valley form. Superb Capitalist kept on gamely for third after a box-seat run. It was another good run up in grade following wins in two his past three starts over the Valley 1,000m. Aurora Lady came from last to win a battle for fourth without threatening the top three. It was a good run outside his preferred 1,200m trip. Horsepower could manage only fifth prize money after a one-off trip from midfield. He was first up off a break but might be on his mark after copping a sharp penalty following an April win. Whizz Kid beat a few from near the rear. Stellar Express only plodded after a rails run from midfield. Harmony N Blessed will sleep well after getting posted wide and without cover the entire trip travelling midfield.
