Recap by phillip woo

Following a four-wide trip without cover from midfield, Vulcanus just held on after surging to the lead 100m out for a second win to go with four seconds from nine starts over the dirt 1,200m. He appreciated the return to the all-weather after two positive runs on turf. Fortune Whiskey stormed home from last to make it close on the wire. It was clearly his best run from five starts over the dirt 1,200m. Glaciated ran on nicely to finish a close third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was a good effort on his dirt debut following a fifth earlier this month on turf. Whacked late in betting, Winning Machine stayed on well for fourth after a wide trip from better than midfield. He'll be looking forward to a downgrade after showing flashes of ability three times across both surfaces from four starts this term. Happy Action produced a grinding fifth after a rails run from midfield. He couldn't build on a near win last start when trying the dirt 1,200m for the first time. Know At Heart ran on without threatening after making his run second last following a slow start. It was an OK effort at his first start on the surface.
