Race Five : (258) - THE LONGINES HONG KONG SPRINT - Class G1 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 KA YING RISING (J062) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SATONO REVE (K907) R Moore Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with RAGING BLIZZARD.
Horse No 3 LUCKY SWEYNESSE (G180) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 5 WIN CARNELIAN (L901) K Miura K Miura was reprimanded for using his whip on two consecutive occasions near the 250 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 KHAADEM (L902) O Murphy When questioned O Murphy stated that on jumping KHAADEM shifted out abruptly which resulted in the buckle of his stirrup leather unfastened.
He said as a consequence he was obliged to remove his right foot from his stirrup and he completed the remainder of event without the use of his stirrups.
Horse No 8 LUCKY WITH YOU (E356) L Ferraris From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 9 BEAUTY WAVES (H294) A Badel Near the 900 Metres, when racing keenly, got its head up when being steadied to allow WIN CARNELIAN (K Miura) to cross.
K Miura was advised to exercise more care and ensure he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside.
BEAUTY WAVES raced wide and without cover thereafter.
When commencing to give ground near the 250 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded between TOMODACHI KOKOROE and RAGING BLIZZARD which shifted out.
Horse No 10 RAGING BLIZZARD (H368) B Avdulla Bumped on the hindquarters at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 TOMODACHI KOKOROE (H303) H Bentley In the Home Straight lay in.
Near the 150 Metres was steadied to avoid RAGING BLIZZARD (B Avdulla) which shifted out.
B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 13 DIVANO (J142) H Doyle Jumped only fairly.
H Doyle reported that in the middle stages her mount commenced to give ground and when she was concerned there was something amiss near the 600 Metres she did not continue to test it for the remainder of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right hind leg.
The performance of DIVANO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, DIVANO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

Favourite at $1.05, Ka Ying Rising led from gate one and drew clear upon straightening for a 16th straight win and back-to-back successes in the Hong Kong Sprint. He's in a league of his own. Raging Blizzard ran on nicely for second after a rails run from behind midfield. It was clearly his best performance to date, but he is a very honest sprinter. Fast Network just held on for third after getting all favours in the box seat. It was another solid run after a second in last month's Jockey Club Sprint. Veteran Lucky Sweynesse ran on nicely to just miss third prize money following a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was a good effort by the former sprint champion. Helios Express got going late for fifth after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. Tomodachi Kokoroe just held his ground after a midfield trip. Old-timer Lucky With You ran on without threatening after making his run second last from gate 12.
