Race Four : (306) - HILLWOOD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 FLOWING RICHES (K293) M L Yeung Near the 850 Metres was steadied to avoid SMART GOLF (H Bentley) which shifted in when not quite clear.
After obtaining a position in front of FLOWING RICHES, H Bentley then reduced the pace of the race which resulted in FLOWING RICHES shifting out and crowding SPEEDY SMARTIE.
H Bentley was reprimanded and advised he must ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.
Horse No 3 ALABAMA SONG (K480) D B McMonagle Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 4 ADORABLE SMILE (L011) M Guyon Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 5 AMAZING PARTNERS (K554) C Y Ho Shortly after the start was crowded between ALABAMA SONG and GOOD FORTUNE which shifted out.
Horse No 6 SMART GOLF (L004) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 SPEEDY PATCH (L104) K C Leung Raced greenly when under pressure in the Home Straight and near the 350 Metres became unbalanced when being shifted to the outside of SERGEANT PEPPER.
Horse No 8 SUPREME FEELING (L130) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 9 VICTOR SUPREME (K547) C L Chau Near the 50 Metres was steadied when crowded between GOOD FORTUNE which shifted in and away from SPARKLE AND GOLD and SPEEDY PATCH which shifted out slightly.
Horse No 10 ZEPHYR (K414) M Chadwick Slow to begin.
Horse No 11 GOOD FORTUNE (H349) M F Poon Shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped.
Trainer P C Ng confirmed that he had instructed M F Poon to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 SPEEDY SMARTIE (H108) K Teetan Near the 800 Metres was steadied when crowded between SERGEANT PEPPER and FLOWING RICHES.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 13 SERGEANT PEPPER (E432) H T Mo Jumped awkwardly.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Smart Golf went to the front early from gate 11 and after getting pressure from Sergeant Pepper early, he was much too smart for a maiden win at his second start. He lived up to a nice trial win after a debut fifth over the straight 1,000m. Post time favourite Speedy Smartie found one too good after jumping alertly to sit handy with cover from gate four. He continues to hold his form very well this term. Amazing Partners ran on well with two wider out for third after sitting three wide travelling fifth last from gate 13. He's a winner in happen after catching the eye for third in both his starts. Light Years Glory stayed on for fourth after a prominent run on the fence. It was an improved performance from a better draw at his second straight run down in Class Four. Flowing Riches was a one-paced fifth after sitting one off with cover in third from gate 10.
