Race Five : (338) - WU KAU TANG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 STAR SATYR (K231) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 2 OLDTOWN (K105) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and then raced tight between BROWNNEEDSFURTHER and BRAVE WIN which shifted out.
Horse No 4 STRATHPEFFER (H095) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 ROBOT STAR (K559) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 PRECISION HOPE (L047) A Badel Jumped only fairly and bumped with YOUNG FIGHTER.
Was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 9 BROWNNEEDSFURTHER (K325) J Orman Crowded shortly after the start.
Horse No 10 BRAVE WIN (K421) C Y Ho Shifted out on jumping and was bumped.
Horse No 11 MANAPHY (K075) K C Leung Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 12 FORTUNE KINGO (K457) R Kingscote Shortly after the start was bumped and became unbalanced.
For a short distance near the 150 Metres raced tight to the inside of YOUNG FIGHTER which shifted in slightly.
Horse No 13 APOLAR FIGHTER (J169) M Guyon Shifted in on jumping and made contact with MANAPHY.
M Guyon reported that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He added, in his view, the horse did not appreciate the step-up to Class 4 today.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 YOUNG FIGHTER (K464) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No ROMAN CROWN (J456) M Guyon Withdrawn on 10.1.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (irregular heart rhythm) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter APOLAR FIGHTER.
Before being allowed to race again, ROMAN CROWN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Favourite Robot Star travelled one off behind midfield and got up in the final few metres for the win for a maiden success at his third start. He was able to build on a very unlucky eighth last start. Punted late Strathpeffer was collared late after fighting back when headed 150m out for the lead by Crossborderdude 150m out. He's as honest as the day is long. Crossborderdude's condition gave way 50m out after moving to the front 150m out following a prominent run one off the fence. He's building towards a win with placings in two of his past three starts. Star Satyr got going late for fourth without threatening the top three after making his run third last from gate 12. He's run well both times following a downgrade. Brownneedsfurther stayed on for fifth after a one-off trip from midfield. It was an OK effort with a step up to 1,400m. Well-backed Oldtown ran on steadily without ever looking a threat after a rails run from behind midfield.
