Recap by phillip woo

Brown-lamped Akashvani dictated the pave from gate eight, straightened two lengths on top and won going away for a third win from 12 starts. Odds-on favourite Super Express stayed on well for second after a one-out, one-back run from gate 12. It was a good effort at his first start in 210 days. Do Your Part stayed on well through the centre for third after a wide trip without cover from midfield. He's as honest as the day is long. Armor Golden Eagle ran on nicely near the inside to snatch fourth after making his run wide travelling second last from gate 14. He had shown flashes of ability in his opening two local starts. Good Luck Babe stayed on all right for fifth after a one-off trip from midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten : (363) - FENCING 1400M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 FLYING FORTRESS (J445) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 NEW FUTURE FOLKS (J418) D B McMonagle A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

Horse No 3 AKASHVANI (K234) B Avdulla B Avdulla advised that the instructions were to go forward but not necessarily lead.

He said when AKASHVANI showed good pace in the early stages it was able to lead without having to be pressured to do so.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 RIDING TOGETHER (K081) L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that the intention was to hold an on-pace position with cover.

He said in the early stages he allowed TIN FOOK to cross his mount which resulted in RIDING HIGH settling slightly further back than intended when a number of runners continued forward wider on the track.

He added in the Home Straight RIDING HIGH finished the race off one-paced and he was of the opinion the horse would be suited with the reapplication of visors or blinkers and to be ridden with more urgency in the early stages to hold a more forward position.

Horse No 6 DO YOUR PART (J444) L Ferraris Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.

Horse No 7 SUPER EXPRESS (K245) M Guyon Jumped awkwardly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 LUCKY MY WAY (K146) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 9 SO YOU WILL (L172) A Badel Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was bumped by GOOD LUCK BABE which shifted out.

Horse No 10 HAPPY TERCENTENARY (L185) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Horse No 11 ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE (K566) A Atzeni From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 12 TIN FOOK (K167) Z Purton Z Purton stated that the horse made an abnormal respiratory noise during the running of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

The performance of TIN FOOK was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.

Before being allowed to race again, TIN FOOK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 14 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) M Chadwick Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
