Flying Luck was given a patient ride third last from gate nine and quickened nicely through the centre to just get the better of Lovero for a third win and second over 1,600m from 15 starts. He is capable on his day but hadn't raced after lameness in November. Lovero stayed on very well for second after a prominent run one off the fence. He continues to hold his form well following a stable change. Withallmyfaith found a couple too good after leading 300m out following a wide trip sitting near the front from gate 11. It was a good effort with a step back to the 1,600m of a third two runs ago. Embraces rushed home from last after straightening four deep for fourth to add value to the Quartet. It was an improved effort on recent runs following a return to Sha Tin. Beauty Alliance made ground late near the inside to just miss fourth after a rails run from midfield. He's given a decent sight in both starts this month following a break.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eleven : (384) - BEAUTY GENERATION HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters

Horse No 1 BEAUTY ALLIANCE (J260) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.

Approaching the 200 Metres was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of CHILL EASY.

Horse No 2 DAZZLING FIT (K298) J McDonald On jumping became badly unbalanced when bumped by PACKING FIGHTER which shifted in.

J McDonald stated that from the 600 Metres when positioned to the inside of PACKING FIGHTER he considered shifting to that runner's outside to improve.

He said as he was of the view he would have had to make a long run if he did so he elected to improve to the inside of PACKING FIGHTER to follow SILO into the race which he thought would provide him with the opportunity to improve.

He said after following SILO he then endeavoured to improve to that runner's inside but when FLYING LUCK shifted out he became held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.

Horse No 3 EMBRACES (J276) C L Chau From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After improving to the inside of FLYING LUCK near the 150 Metres raced tight to the inside of FLYING LUCK when that runner shifted in and as a result had difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 150 Metres.

Horse No 4 FOREVER BEAR (L192) D B McMonagle Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by FYUING LUCK which shifted in.

Horse No 5 CHILL EASY (L148) C Y Ho C Y Ho reported that he was instructed to hold a more forward position but not necessarily lead.

He said when CHILL EASY commenced well he was positioned wide in the early stages and he continued forward to lead the event.

Horse No 6 DO YOU JUST (L094) M Chadwick M Chadwick reported that making the first turn near the 800 Metres his mount changed stride and blundered when being steadied when being crossed by CHILL EASY (C Y Ho) which shifted in when not quite clear.

C Y Ho was advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 7 LOVERO (H451) H Bentley Near the 800 Metres was steadied when crowded between DO YOU JUST which shifted out when being steadied to avoid CHILL EASY and WITHALLMYFAITH which shifted in slightly.

Horse No 8 WINNING GOLD (H461) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 9 SILO (J399) L Ferraris Near the 300 Metres raced tight between PACKING FIGHTER and FLYING LUCK which shifted out.

L Ferraris reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 FLYING LUCK (J339) E C W Wong Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.

Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres lay in and had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of GHORGAN.

Horse No 11 PACKING FIGHTER (L112) L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but when his mount shifted in at the start and bumped heavily with DAZZLING FIT it settled further back in the field than intended.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 GHORGAN (K199) M Guyon Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 13 PANACEA (K256) D Probert Near the 750 Metres was steadied to avoid DO YOU JUST.

Races 4 - 11 were each put back 5 minutes.

After the running of Race 3, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Firm" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 3 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm"
