Recap by phillip woo

Lucky Eight went forward three wide from gate 13 and eventually found the fence 750m out and after straightening two lengths on top, he just held on. Debutant Gallant Design ran on nicely four deep upon straightening to make it close on the wire after a one-off trip travelling midfield. He will be winning races in no time. Invictus Dragon ran on well for third after a wide and with cover trip travelling just worse than midfield. It's only a matter of time before he salutes the judge after showing potential in two of three starts. Better And Better was on his tippy toes 100m out after looking a fleeting chance mid-straight following a wide with cover trip from better than midfield. Winning Champion made ground late for fifth after biding his time fourth last from gate 12.
