Recap by phillip woo

Little Paradise travelled behind midfield on the fence and was badly held up for a clear run from the 400m until the 200m, but he showed a brilliant turn of foot to win going away 100m out for a sixth success from nine starts. Infinite Resolve ran on nicely for second after a one-off trip from midfield. He was able to build on an eye-catching second when trying 1,400m last start. Beauty Bolt stayed on well for third after leading 300m out following a speed-tracking run outside Winfield from gate 12. It was another honest performance. Sagacious Life ran on steadily for fourth after a wide trip with cover travelling midfield from gate 13. It was a good run. Punted late Top Dragon kept on well for fifth after a rails run from midfield. It was another honest performance. Favourite Invincible Ibis ran on without threatening after making his run fourth last from gate 11. He had his winning streak stopped at four.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of H Bowman, 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 BEAUTY BOLT (K491) J McDonald Bumped shortly after the start.

J McDonald pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 150 Metres (see PUBLIC ATTENTION).

Near the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded between INVINCIBLE IBIS and CRIMSON FLASH which was taken out by LITTLE PARADISE (C Y Ho) which shifted out.

C Y Ho was reprimanded.

Horse No 8 PUBLIC ATTENTION (L035) B Avdulla J McDonald (BEAUTY BOLT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 150 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of TOP DRAGON, resulting in TOP DRAGON being crowded onto PUBLIC ATTENTION, resulting in PUBLIC ATTENTION losing its rightful running and being checked.

J McDonald was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 8 February 2026 at Sha Tin.
