Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (473) - WAN CHAI GAP HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 3 SOVEREIGN FUND (J402) K Teetan Bumped on jumping.
K Teetan stated that the instructions were to hold a more forward position.
He said despite his efforts in the early stages SOVEREIGN FUND did not show sufficient pace and as a result settled further back than intended.
He added that his mount travelled only fairly during the event and did not run on when asked for an effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 GREATER BAE (L033) Z Purton Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SUGAR SUGAR (G016) B Avdulla Bumped on jumping.
Lay in after travelling a short distance, resulting in its rider B Avdulla having to correct his mount.
Horse No 7 CHARMING BABE (J513) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 8 STRAIGHT TO GLORY (K340) K C Leung Bumped after travelling a short distance.
Raced keenly in the early stages.
Horse No 10 MY DAY MY WAY (J519) L Hewitson Raced keenly in the middle stages.

Horse No 11 SPIRIT OF PEACE (K007) M Guyon After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between STRAIGHT TO GLORY which shifted out slightly and SUGAR SUGAR which lay in despite the efforts of its rider.

Horse No 12 CAMP LAND (K510) A Badel Slow to begin.
The performance of CAMP LAND, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, CAMP LAND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

My Day My Way travelled worse than midfield before rallying nicely through the centre to get up 50m out for a second Valley 1,200m win from his past five starts. Spirit Of Peace ran on nicely along the inside for second after a rails run from behind midfield. He's building towards a win. Sugar Sugar ran on well to finish a close third after a rails run from midfield. It was an improved effort at his second run back in Class Three after a Class Four success in December. Punted late Igor Stravinsky stayed on well for fourth after settling box seat from gate one. He was able to improve on a sixth last start at his initial run over the Valley 1,200m. Favourite Greater Bae made ground late with two wider out for fifth after a wide and without cover trip from behind midfield. He had an excuse. Straight To Glory just plodded when asked for more after settling one-out, one-back after an early tussle for the front. He was having his first experience in Class Three after back-to-back wins. Specked late Prestige Always finished next best with one wider out after making his run one from the rear.
