Racing Incident Report
Race One : (475) - CITI WEALTH HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 AUDACIOUS PURSUIT (K398) E C W Wong Near the 350 Metres was hampered when taken wider by FORTUNE KINGO.
E C W Wong reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said from back in the field his mount found it difficult to make ground when under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, AUDACIOUS PURSUIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 SUPREME MASTERMIND (K387) J McDonald Jumped only fairly.
In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid AMAZING GAZE.
For some distance near the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of AMAZING GAZE.
Horse No 3 AMAZING GAZE (K444) Z Purton Approaching the 1300 Metres was steadied to avoid OCEAN IMPACT.
Horse No 4 OCEAN IMPACT (J502) D B McMonagle Bumped at the start.
Horse No 6 GOOD GOOD (J224) M Guyon Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight.
Horse No 7 CHARITY TOGETHER (K254) C L Chau Bumped on jumping.
Approaching the 1300 Metres was momentarily crowded by VOLCANIC SPARK which was racing tight to the inside of OCEAN IMPACT.
Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when it lay in whilst being shifted to the outside of OCEAN IMPACT.
CHARITY TOGETHER continued to lay in for the remainder of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 VOLCANIC SPARK (H388) R Kingscote Was momentarily crowded approaching the 1300 Metres.
Horse No 9 STORM RUNNER (J452) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 FORTUNE KINGO (K457) C Y Ho From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1300 Metres shifted in when racing keenly and made contact with JOYFUL PROSPERITY.
Near the 350 Metres shifted out and away from SUPREME MASTERMIND when that runner shifted out.
As a result FORTUNE KINGO made contact with AUDACIOUS PURSUIT.
Horse No 11 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) L Hewitson On jumping was crowded between MAZING GRACE and OCEAN IMPACT, both of which shifted ground.
Approaching the 1300 Metres became unbalanced when crowded by FORTUNE KINGO which shifted in abruptly when being steadied to avoid AMAZING GAZE.
Over the final 100 Metres was held up for clear running behind THE LION KING and could not be ridden out to the finish of the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 13 MANAGEMENT FOLKS (E496) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 14 MAZING GRACE (K166) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.

Storm Runner had a one-out, one back run and after cruising to the lead 300m out, he was too good for back-to-back wins. Charity Together ran on nicely through the centre for second after a rails run from behind midfield. He's building towards a win. Punted late Amazing Gaze ran on nicely with three wider out for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He keeps promising without delivering on a win. Ocean Impact ran on well after a one-off trip settling midfield. He's improved from one run to the next after a heart irregularity in December. Management Folks came from last and through the centre for fifth. He always does his best work late. Kingly Demeanor kept battling away to just hold sixth prize money after emerging the leader from gate one 1,600m out.
