Recap by phillip woo

Fast Network settled midfield on the rails, wove a run to hit the front 50m out and was too smart for a seventh win from 18 starts. He had top weight but was too classy following a downgrade. Sky Trust found one too smart after leading 160m out following a prominent run. It was another good effort up in grade following a win. Invincible Shield ran on nicely for third after a rails run from behind midfield. He's holding his form well to place in back-to-back runs after a win. Tomodachi Kokoroe just missed third after a one-off trip from midfield. Punted late, Patch Of Theta made good ground late near the inside for fifth after making his run second last from gate 11. He's better suited over 1,400m. Stellar Express was on his tippy toes 100m out after emerging with the lead from gate 12. He's a straight 1,000m specialist.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten : (504) - ESSEX HANDICAP - Class 1 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 FAST NETWORK (J358) Z Purton Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 PATCH OF THETA (H485) H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 3 BEAUTY WAVES (H294) A Badel A Badel could offer no excuse for the horse's performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 LIGHT YEARS CHARM (K130) D B McMonagle Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 6 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) A Atzeni Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of A Atzeni, 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

A Atzeni stated that his mount failed to run out the 1200 Metres of today's race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 STORM RIDER (J027) K Teetan Shifted out at the start and was bumped.

Horse No 8 INVINCIBLE SHIELD (K168) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 9 WUNDERBAR (H411) R Kingscote Jumped awkwardly and then became unbalanced when bumped by STORM RIDER which shifted out.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 INVINCIBLE SAGE (H301) M F Poon Shortly after the start was bumped by WUNDERBAR and became unbalanced.

M F Poon reported that his mount initially responded to his riding in the early stages of the Home Straight but over the concluding stages did not run on which he attributed to the horse performing better on a surface with more give in it.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 SKY TRUST (J161) E C W Wong Near the 900 Metres SKY TRUST, which was racing keenly, was eased to avoid STELLAR EXPRESS (A Atzeni) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear.

A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care.

Sent for sampling post-race.
