Race One : (515) - SA PO HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 COURIER MAGIC (H290) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 3 MAGIC COSMOS (J411) K C Leung K C Leung reported that from the outside barrier his instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of MAGIC COSMOS, which finished tailed out on the second consecutive occasion, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC COSMOS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 4 SPEEDY TRIDENT (K230) J Orman Approaching the 1500 Metres was steadied to avoid BRILLIANT FIRE (H Bentley) which shifted in when not clear.
H Bentley was reprimanded.
In this incident SPEEDY TRIDENT shifted out when being steadied, resulting in SMART BEAUTY, FAMILY FORTUNE and PERFECT PEACH being hampered when carried wider.

Horse No 5 PERFECT PEACH (E488) Z Purton From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1500 Metres was steadied when taken wider.

Horse No 6 WISEMAN (K211) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly.
B Avdulla reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily in the early stages but he was concerned with its action when it came under pressure from the 800 Metres which resulted in him not testing the horse in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of WISEMAN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, WISEMAN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 11 BRILLIANT FIRE (J441) H Bentley H Bentley reported that after obtaining an on-pace position in the early stages his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight but could offer no excuse for the horse's disappointing run.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of BRILLIANT FIRE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, BRILLIANT FIRE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Go Go Go rushed to the front from gate seven and kept up a strong gallop to notch a second win and first in 553 days at his 38th start. He rarely produces a bad run on this surface and was stepping out of a career low in the ratings. Meepmeep ran on well for second after a rails run from midfield. He appreciated a return to the surface and trip of his only previous win off a much higher mark of 39. All Eyes On Me ran on nicely through the centre to take third after making his run at the rear from gate 12. He was able to build on a career-best fourth last start over the same dirt 1,650m. Firming favourite Phantom Cyclone ran on steadily to just miss a placing after a one-off trip from midfield. It was another honest effort on the surface.
