Race Ten : (603) - PARKES HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 CROSSBORDERPEGASUS (K008) J Orman J Orman stated that his mount jumped only fairly and then blundered and as a result lost ground.
Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight.
Horse No 3 YOUNG EMPEROR (K011) L Ferraris Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running.
Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres again had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between TURQUOISE VELOCITY and JUMBO TREASURE.
Horse No 4 JUMBO TREASURE (K249) H Y Yuen Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that after leading the event her mount did not respond to her riding in the Home Straight and, in her opinion, was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 CHILL BUDDY (K469) A Atzeni When being crossed by JUMBO TREASURE near the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly, shifted out and made contact with MASTER OF ALL.
Horse No 6 TURQUOISE VELOCITY (K533) M L Yeung Over the concluding stages lay out, resulting in its rider M L Yeung having to correct his mount approaching the winning post.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 THE UNIQUE STAR (L122) K Teetan Near the 150 Metres could not be ridden out when racing in restricted room between QUANTUM LEGEND and CROSSBORDERPEGASUS which shifted in.
K Teetan advised that from the outside barrier he had been instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Horse No 8 MASTER OF ALL (H177) H T Mo Bumped near the 1000 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 NEW FUTURE FOLKS (J418) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
C Y Ho reported that his mount hung out throughout the event before giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 10 QUANTUM LEGEND (L268) Z Purton On jumping was crowded when bumped by MY MARS which shifted in.
Z Purton advised that the horse, which was having its first race start in the Hong Kong, would derive a fitness benefit from today's performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 MY MARS (L301) B Avdulla Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.

Horse No 2 SMART GOLF (L004) H Bentley Was a late withdrawal acting on veterinary advice after it was found to be lame in its left front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, SMART GOLF will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

My Mars settled one off in midfield and ran on nicely through the centre to just deny Turquoise Velocity a maiden win on his local debut. He lived up to three solid trials in Conghua. Turquoise Velocity did everything right but get the win after leading near the 200m following a speed-tracking run from gate nine. It was another solid effort carrying 7lb more after back-to-back wins. Young Emperor wove a run late near the inside for third after a rails run from midfield. He's run well to fill the frame in his past three of four starts after a win in January. Chill Buddy had his chance but had to settle for fourth after a box-seat run. Crossborderpegasus made good ground late near the outside for fifth after making his run at the rear following a slow start. It wasn't a bad effort at his first run since January.
