Elite Golf tracked the speed from gate five before assuming the lead from Leading Dragon and keeping on for a second win and last start second from four outings. He's got the tools to hold his own up in grade off a light weight. Leading Dragon kept on gamely for second after dictating the pace from gate one under a 10lb claimer. He handled a step up to 1,200m after three positive runs. Favourite Baby Sakura really let down late for third after a one-off trip from midfield. He might be looking for a longer trip. Top Throne came up one paced over the last 100m with every opportunity following a prominent run one off the fence from gate 11. He was able to back up a fourth last start. Flying Sniper ran on steadily near the inside for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's shown natural progress on his two starts.

Race Six : (599) - HART HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 BABY SAKURA (L230) C Y Ho Shifted out on jumping and made contact with LUCKY BID.

L Hewitson (TOP THRONE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of BABY SAKURA, resulting in BABY SAKURA having to be checked to avoid TOP THRONE.

L Hewitson was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 29 April 2026 at Happy Valley.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 ELITE GOLF (L023) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 ISLAND BUDDY (J217) K Teetan Brushed a rail on entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race.

K Teetan stated that his mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position and as a result was left racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

He added that in the Home Straight ISLAND BUDDY failed to respond to his riding.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 LO PAN SPIRIT (J233) L Ferraris L Ferraris expressed concern with his mount's action in the Home Straight.

Horse No 5 FLYING SNIPER (L270) Z Purton Jumped only fairly, shifted in and was steadied to avoid ELITE GOLF.

Near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid BABY SAKURA.

As a result FLYING SNIPER then raced keenly for some distance thereafter.

Horse No 8 SUPER RUBICK KID (L259) J Orman Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 11 KINGDOM OF RICHES (K079) M L Yeung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 800 Metres was checked to avoid BABY SAKURA.

Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race.

Before being allowed to race again, KINGDOM OF RICHES will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
