Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (602) - JORDAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 ENDEARED (H161) Z Purton Making the Home Turn was steadied to avoid GHORGAN and as a result shifted out and made the Home Turn wider.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 HEAVING (K576) L Ferraris Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid ENDEARED.
Horse No 3 CHARMING LEGEND (K127) J Moreira C Y Ho (ALL'S WELL) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of CHARMING LEGEND, resulting in CHARMING LEGEND losing its rightful running and being checked to avoid ALL'S WELL.
C Y Ho was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 19 April 2026 at Sha Tin.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.
After the 600 Metres CHARMING LEGEND commenced to race keenly which resulted in it having to be steadied to avoid ALL'S WELL near the 500 Metres.
J Moreira reported that as a result CHARMING LEGEND became positioned too close to the heels of ALL'S WELL and struck the heels of ALL'S WELL on a number of occasions thereafter.
Near the 500 Metres was shifted to the outside of ALL'S WELL and made contact with GHORGAN.
A short distance later CHARMING LEGEND became badly unbalanced when buffeted for room between GHORGAN and ALL'S WELL (C Y Ho) which shifted out when being steadied to avoid OUTGATE when positioned too close to that runner's heels.
As the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey Ho was obliged to shift out to avoid the heels of OUTGATE, no direct action was taken, however, he was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
J Moreira stated that after being checked near the 1000 Metres and badly crowded on the Home Turn CHARMING LEGEND was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 OUTGATE (H113) Y L Chung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 ALL'S WELL (K294) C Y Ho C Y Ho pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 1000 Metres (see CHARMING LEGEND).
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 COMPLETE UNKNOWN (L219) K C Leung Became fractious as the start was effected and as a result jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 7 FORTUNE LINK (L311) H Y Yuen Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 GHORGAN (K199) C L Chau Near the 900 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid CHARMING LEGEND which shifted in after being taken out.
C L Chau stated that after making a forward move from the 600 Metres his mount made contact with FLASH CURRENT shortly after and then on the Home Turn became badly unbalanced when it contacted with FLASH CURRENT.
He added subsequent to that incident GHORGAN finished the race off in a one-paced manner in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 FLASH CURRENT (J500) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Between the 350 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 12 REFUSETOBEENGLISH (K362) A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres was held up for clear running.

Fortune Link dictated the run from gat 12 and just held off the fast-finishing Endeared by a whisker for a winning debut in Hong Kong. He enjoyed the light weight under 10lb claimer Nichola Yuen. Endeared surged late through the centre to just miss after a patient ride fourth last from gate eight. He's racing very well of late across both surfaces at Sha Tin. Punted late All's Well stayed on nicely for third after swishing his tail badly 650m out following a prominent run one off the fence. It was a better performance. Heaving ran on late near the outside for fourth without threatening the top three after biding his time third last from gate nine. He has promised without delivering from six local runs. Complete Unknown stayed on well for fifth from midfield after a slow start. It was a better effort at his second local run with a step up to 1,400m.
