Race Nine : (622) - HELPING OLDER ADULTS AGE WELL 1400M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 SKY JEWELLERY (K032) H Bowman Became unbalanced when bumped shortly after the start.
Leaving the 900 Metres raced keenly and was steadied to avoid AEROVOLANIC.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 MAKE YOU SMILE (K426) B Avdulla Bumped on jumping.
From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 3 EVERYONE'S STAR (K172) J Moreira Between the 400 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 AEROVOLANIC (K400) Z Purton Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
After the 1000 Metres raced keenly and was steadied for some distance thereafter from CHILL EASY.
Near the 250 Metres was hampered when taken wider by EVERYONE'S STAR.
Approaching the 100 Metres was steadied when crowded between SKY JEWELLERY which shifted in slightly and EVERYONE'S STAR which shifted out and away from CHILL EASY when that runner shifted out.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 GOLDEN CHAMP (L135) Y L Chung Near the 250 Metres was steadied when crowded between SKY JEWELLERY which shifted in slightly and AEROVOLANIC which shifted out and away from EVERYONE'S STAR after being taken out by that runner.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 NUCLEOZOR (K285) K Teetan Bumped at the start.
Horse No 7 URANUS STAR (K511) L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that his mount jumped only fairly and as a result settled further back in the field than what had been intended.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 CHILL EASY (L148) C L Chau Near the 100 Metres shifted out, resulting in its rider C L Chau having to stop riding and straighten.
Horse No 9 PERFECTDAY (K238) J Orman Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of the starting gate.
Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Horse No 10 EXCEED THE LIMIT (L267) A Atzeni Shifted out at the start and made contact with MAKE YOU SMILE.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 12 WONDERSTAR (J531) P N Wong On jumping made contact with the right side of the starting gate.
WONDERSTAR then bumped with NUCLEOZOR, shifted out and made contact with SKY JEWELLERY.

Sky Jewellery was ridden patiently one off behind midfield and quickened nicely near the outside carrying top weight to win going away 60m out, upping his career record to four wins and two seconds. He's a very smart horse. Everyone's Star found one too smart on the day after getting momentarily held up between the 400m and 300m following a rails run from midfield. It was another honest effort. Chill Easy stayed on for third after hitting the front 150m out following a one-out, one-back run. It was an improved effort. Perfectday was only fourth best after getting all favours in the box seat. He needs to drop further in the ratings. M M Concord gradually faded after dictating the pace from gate one. It was a better effort at his third local start. Aerovolanic just plodded after a one-off trip from midfield. He couldn't lift carrying 7lb more.
