Two leaders of the new generation join hands to start a venture in the hope of creating a better new world – this is the framework of Ermenegildo Zegna and director Park Chan-wook’s film A Rose Reborn.  The idea of harmony and balance drawing from Eastern philosophies has repeatedly been related to ancient symbols, such as fresh air and water; in contrast to the loss of equilibrium in the modern world.

An elegant and philosophical film created by Ermenegildo Zegna and renowned director Park Chan-wook, the finale of A Rose Reborn was released last week.  The film themed with a metaphorical rebirth from death or destruction has been produced with various symbols and images.  The director notes that “only after some kind of death, in a symbolic sense, after going through some kind of destruction”, new life can begin.  Have you found any of those “secret codes” illustrating life in the episodes?

When it comes to the finale, it is always the most exciting and anticipating moment.  In the previous episodes, we have been travelling with Stephen to look for Mr Lu – deep down underground in the mine in Wyoming and to a museum in Shanghai exploring culture and arts.  In this last episode of Ermenegildo Zegna’s short movie A Rose Reborn, we are going to Milan to a cemetery, a place indicating death.

In Ermenegildo Zegna’s insightful film A Rose Reborn, the pursuit for knowledge, belief and ultimately a better future is depicted by Korean director Park Chan-wook through the growth of the role Stephan.  Head of Design at Ermenegildo Zegna Stefano Pilati specially created the wardrobe for the two main characters from his Couture collection.

After experiencing the darkness and threat of death in the Wyoming mine, we are now travelling to Shanghai – the next stop in Stephen’s journey.  Rather than landing in a raw and remote underground location, this time we start in a place with selected exhibits showing human history, culture and arts.  We are in a museum in Shanghai.

An elegant and philosophical film presented by Ermenegildo Zegna, “A Rose Reborn” brings us to travel to various places looking for a brighter future through the adventures of Stephen (Jack Huston), evocative of something rising from the death in a metaphorical rebirth.

Co-starring with Jack Huston in Ermenegildo Zegna’s experimental film “A Rose Reborn”, Asian actor Daniel Wu’s identity in the story is still a mystery in the 2nd episode.  Having appeared with light in the mine, he disappears into the dark leaving Stephen with the exchanged jacket.  You will have to find out who he really is in the coming episodes.  Daniel talks about his role and the experience working with the brand, Director Park Chan-Wook and Jack.

Imagine you are in the position of Stephen (Jack Huston).  With an urge to find someone who might be able to help you settle life crisis, you have to go 200 metres under the ground in a mine in an unfamiliar place and you don't know what is going to happen.  You dare to take the challenge?  Experience Stephen's adventure in the 2nd episode of Ermenegildo Zegna's A Rose Reborn to learn how he speaks to the voice of Mr Lu.

Playing the role of Stephen in A Rose Reborn, British actor Jack Huston identifies himself with the young entrepreneur who goes beyond his own world to explore a better future.  The film is an international collaboration project of Ermenegildo Zegna with prominent Korean director Park Chan-Wook and Asian actor Daniel Wu.  Jack shares his view towards the film, the cooperation and the brand.

Ermenegildo Zegna’s inventive video experience A Rose Reborn started last week.  In the first episode Stephan is facing some business issues in his small world where he eventually reaches out to an unknown universe.  Director of the film, internationally renowned Korean director Park Chan-Wook is a friend and fan of the luxury menswear brand.  For the first time working on a project combining fashion and film, he shares his ideas and insights about it.
