Hong Kong Premier League 2014-15i

The BOCG Life Hong Kong Premier League is the top professional competition for men’s football clubs in Hong Kong. Its inaugural season is 2014/2015, as it replaces the old Hong Kong First Division in an attempt to revitalise the moribund club game in Hong Kong under the government’s ‘Project Phoenix’ plan. Nine teams will contest the first season.

Today's match against YFCMD will be a title party for Kitchee, who sewed up the inaugural Premier League prize last weekend, but in the first division, the race is on for two promotion spots.

Kitchee were crowned Hong Kong champions after a thrilling 3-3 draw with struggling Wofoo Tai Po yesterday. The match kept fans on the edge of their seats at Tai Po Sports Ground with Kitchee seeking the title and the home side trying to avoid relegation.

Wofoo Tai Po dug deep when it mattered to stave off relegation and record their first win of the season in beating fellow strugglers Wong Tai Sin 3-1 yesterday.

Barring a major disaster in their remaining three matches, Kitchee will be crowned the inaugural Hong Kong Premier League soccer champions later this month.

YFCMD were punished for a host of missed chances as they squandered a two-goal lead and allowed Sun Pegasus to fight back for a 2-2 draw in the BOCG Life Premier League on Saturday.

Kitchee's 5-0 demolition job on BC Rangers at Kowloon Bay Park yesterday appears to have made it a question of when, rather than if, they will be crowned champions of the inaugural BOCG Life Hong Kong Premier League.

Eastern will have to overcome another tough obstacle in their title chase when they face the challenge of Sun Pegasus in the BOCG Life Premier League at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground tonight.

Kitchee survived a bout of late nerves to beat Sun Pegasus 2-1 in a BOCG Life Premier League clash yesterday and tighten their grip on bolster their bid for a second successive championship title.
