This week’s question: Where is the strangest place you found an item you lost?

To take part, drop us a line via this form or email us at [email protected] by 11.59pm on August 2. Tell us your name, age and school.

Here are the shades our students would choose ...

Chloe Chan Lok-yi, 16, Tak Nga Secondary School: Orange would be my choice. It represents warmth, energy and happiness. The sun and burning candles are both examples of orange colours that give me a heartwarming feeling. When I am basking in the sunshine, I can feel the sun’s vitality, and I become more energetic.

Amelie Chin, 16, Sha Tin College: Instead of opting for more subtle colours, I would choose to wear crimson red. This bold statement colour would help me to stand out, making me come across as confident, powerful and strong. After all, we only live once, so why not wear something bold?

Top 10: What’s on your summer bucket list?

Suri Chan Tin-wing, 17, Yan Chai Hospital Law Chan Chor Si College: Baby pink. Everything seems to be romantic and warm after it is coloured baby pink. When I am sad or down, I wear baby pink clothes, like the ones that Barbie wears, to make me feel happier. And it works! If I wore baby pink clothes for the rest of my life, I imagine every gathering with friends and family would be filled with happiness and joy.

Sirius Hong Kiu, 15, La Salle College: I just love how versatile and stylish blue is. The colour works for both casual everyday wear and formal occasions, and I could mix and match different shades of blue to create a timeless wardrobe. Besides, blue has a calming effect, as it reminds me of the bright blue sky and the navy blue sea.

Kylie Cheung, 17, Sha Tin College: I would wear black. The versatility of black allows you to interpret it in many ways; it could be calming to some people or elegant to others. In other words, the adaptability of a plain colour suits diverse occasions. Also, most importantly, when eating a hearty meal, I will have no worries about food stains.

Valerie Chiu Wing-yee, 13, St Mary’s Canossian College: Turquoise symbolises wisdom, tranquillity and fortune, and this blue-green colour makes me picture myself surrounded by nature. Nature gives me a sense of peace, and I love laying my eyes on massive leafy trees and their enticing flowers. Since this colour can be associated with nature, wearing it could be a way for me to remind people about the urgency of protecting Mother Nature.

Top 10: What is your favourite letter of the alphabet and why?

Marco Kong Hok-lim, 15, Ho Lap College Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen: Grey. On hot summer days, wearing clothing in light colours, such as grey, will make you feel less hot because dark colours like black absorb more heat. Also, when I accidentally stain my shirt with a drink, the black colour would hide my embarrassment.

Hylia Chan, 10, St. Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School: I would wear purple. Firstly, it is my preferred hue. Secondly, the colour embodies creativity, dignity, wisdom, and independence – all of which are my strong suits. Also, purple is renowned for its calming effect, and I hope it can lighten the stress of those around me.

Tse Cheuk-man, 13, CNEC Christian College: I would choose black because it is my favourite colour and my clothes won’t get stained even if something spills on them. Also, black can absorb heat, so it will keep me warm when I feel cold.

Rhea Saxena, 16, King George V School: If I could only wear one colour for the rest of time, my colour of choice would be black. Ninety per cent of my wardrobe is already this colour anyway, as it is such an adaptable colour.
