Recap by phillip woo

Polymer Win settled a distant fourth, cornered five deep and ran down the favourite 50m out. Short-priced favourite Thor The Greatest was pulling hard on the lead, turned the final bend a length on top and was tippy-toeing 100m out. Jolly Spring settled behind midfield and one off the rails, swung the final bend with one wider out and was running on nicely to just miss a runner-up spot. Tomodachi stalked the leader one off in second, straightened four deep and came up one-paced over the final 100m. G-One Leader stuck to the rails upon straightening after saving ground in midfield and ran on well to just miss out on a Quartet spot. Jade Pippo ran on steadily without menacing after travelling one off in a position fore of midfield. Naughty Baby made only a minor bid five deep after travelling fifth from the rear. Joyful The Great never was a factor after making his run second from the rear from a wide gate. Hurry Hurry Up was one-paced after box-seating in the run and was beaten when getting steadied 100m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (348)-PO TOI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres

HURRY HURRY UP shifted out on jumping and bumped NAUGHTY BABY, causing both horses to become unbalanced.

JADE PIPPO shifted in at the start and inconvenienced POLYMER WIN.

From wide barriers, CANNY FRANCO, MEDIC SWORDSMAN and STAND BY YOU were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

In the early and middle stages, THOR THE GREATEST travelled keenly in the lead.

Passing the 150 Metres, G-ONE LEADER raced tight inside HURRY HURRY UP which was taken in marginally by JADE PIPPO.

Then near the 100 Metres, HURRY HURRY UP was steadied when crowded for room between G-ONE LEADER and JADE PIPPO which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of TOMODACHI.

Over the concluding stages, NAUGHTY BABY got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.

Also over the concluding stages, G-ONE LEADER raced tight inside THOR THE GREATEST.

Mr A Lee, the trainer of JOYFUL THE GREAT, reported that he had instructed Jockey M L Yeung to shift the horse across behind runners in the early stages from a wide barrier and obtain cover as he believed that the race would be run at a strong tempo and had it been ridden positively in the early stages there was a strong likelihood that JOYFUL THE GREAT would be left racing wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of JOYFUL THE GREAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of HURRY HURRY UP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

POLYMER WIN and THOR THE GREATEST were sent for sampling.
