Racing Incident Report
Race Eleven: (555)-JINBAO STREET HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Metres
MERION was withdrawn on 9.4.16 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left front foot) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter RACING HERO (Z Purton).Before being allowed to race again, MERION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT began only fairly.
RIGHTEOUS began awkwardly and then shortly after the start shifted out after being bumped by SO FAST, resulting in FANTASTIC KAKA being crowded for room and losing ground.
From wide barriers, BRILLIANT DREAM and WINNING LEADER were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Passing the 1000 Metres, RIGHTEOUS shifted out and bumped BULLISH SMART.
Passing the 800 Metres, SHARP SAILOR got its head up when proving difficult to settle.
After the 800 Metres, FANTASTIC KAKA commenced to prove difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of RACING HERO.
At the entrance to the Straight, SPICY SURE raced in restricted room when advancing into tight running inside PRECISION KING which got its head on the side and shifted out marginally.
RACING HERO had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Throughout the race, BULLISH SMART and MIGHTY MAVERICK travelled wide and without cover.
The performance of SILVERFIELD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, SILVERFIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of SILVERFIELD, LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT and RIGHTEOUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CHEEKY TOO and SPICY SURE were sent for sampling.

6 April 2016 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 7 (543) K C Leung (NORTHERN FALLS) was spoken to regarding his use of the whip over the concluding stages when the horse was clearly winning.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 6 April 2016 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of MODERN FORTUNE, BEAR RAPPER, DIAMOND MYSTERIOUS, MY CUP OVERFLOWS, COMMANDANT, PABLOSKY, PACKING LLAREGYB, EXPEDITE, HO LEE HORSE, SEMPITERNAL, SURE PEACE, SICHUAN VIGOUR, PERPETUAL TREASURE, NORTHERN FALLS, HIT THE BID, ELITE SPIRIT, OUR FOLKS and GOOD LUCK BOY revealed no apparent abnormality.

Favourite Cheeky Too settled three deep with cover in midfield from a wide gate, swung the final bend with three wider out and finished willingly to get up 60m out after putting the writing on the wall last month. Spicy Sure took the short route home following a handy run to hit the front 300m out but found one too good in the end. So Fast finished nicely five deep following a one-out, one-back run to make it close at the finish. Punted late, Racing Hero closed off reasonably well six deep after travelling one off the fence behind midfield to secure a Quartet spot. He goes well under Zac Purton. Mighty Maverick finished off reasonably well despite a four-deep run without cover behind midfield the entire trip. Precision King went to the lead 900m, cornered a length on top and was stopping 100m out. Winning Leader ran on without menacing after a four deep run with cover travelling fourth from the rear. Specked late, Brilliant Dream came on widest out from the rear of the field.
