Recap by phillip woo

Double Master pinged straight to the front and kept up a strong gallop for a second win from 26 starts. The benefit of a run and better gate was the key to victory. Great Speed finished well to grab second after being ridden along to hold a position behind midfield along the fence. It was another honest effort but he does find it hard to win. Kim Glory came up flat inside the final 100m after looming a winning chance following a pace-stalking run. He's naturally coming around with racing. Favourite Idyllic Wind just failed to place following a handy run along the fence. He had no excuse in the run but likely prefers a faster ground. Giddy Giddy was posted without cover the entire trip in a prominent spot after a sluggish break from a wide gate. He's nothing special and needs everything to go right.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (204)-SAN PO KONG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Metres

GIDDY GIDDY began only fairly.

JIMSON THE FAMOUS began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped DOUBLE MASTER.

JIMSON THE FAMOUS then lost ground when crowded for room between DOUBLE MASTER which shifted in when unbalanced and GREAT SPEED which shifted out marginally.

In this incident, GREAT SPEED also became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by JIMSON THE FAMOUS.

NOBLE BUDDIES and EVERYDAY LETTUCE bumped on jumping, EVERYDAY LETTUCE then shifted out and crowded KING OF SMARTS onto KIM GLORY.

From wide barriers, SHOWING CHARACTER and ORIENTAL FANTASIA were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Passing the 800 Metres, EVERYDAY LETTUCE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KIM GLORY (O Murphy) which shifted in when not properly clear.

O Murphy was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

Approaching the first turn near the 600 Metres, ALL TOGETHER shifted out to prevent the crowding to KIM GLORY to its inside.

This resulted in GIDDY GIDDY being inconvenienced.

Passing the 600 Metres, NOBLE BUDDIES got its head up when being checked away from the heels of EVERYDAY LETTUCE.

Rounding the Home Turn, ORIENTAL FANTASIA was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALL TOGETHER.

Near the 150 Metres, ORIENTAL FANTASIA was steadied as it was attempting to improve to the outside of EVERYDAY LETTUCE which shifted out and away from GREAT SPEED after initially being brushed by that horse.

Approaching and passing the 100 Metres, IDYLLIC WIND had difficulty obtaining clear running between DOUBLE MASTER and KIM GLORY.

Over the concluding stages, IDYLLIC WIND and KIM GLORY raced tight.

Throughout the race, GIDDY GIDDY and ALL TOGETHER travelled wide and without cover.

IDYLLIC WIND, DOUBLE MASTER and GREAT SPEED were sent for sampling.
