Recap by phillip woo

Short-priced favourite Beat The Clock drew clear after finding the front 300m out following a box-seat run to notch a second win from five starts. He'll be winning more races. Green Card ran down leader Shamal close to home after settling worse than midfield. He can pop up at times but has been anchored by big weights after a win back in September. Shamal gave a decent sight after leading from a wide gate. He's held on better in two of his past three starts and may be near a bottom. Beauty Flare was acting up before the start but rallied nicely after settling third from the rear to fill a Quartet spot. He's naturally coming to hand in his six starts and will be a better galloper over longer trips when fully acclimatizing. First Fontein kept on all right after a prominent run to build on a pleasing debut over the 1,200m. He's on the right path. Up And Coming made some ground despite being held up at times in the straight drive after settling second from the rear. He's in the right grade.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (341)-YIN KONG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Metres

SUPREME PRIDE, PERFECT LIFELINE and BEAUTY FLARE began only fairly.

UP AND COMING also began only fairly and on jumping was hampered by GREEN CARD which shifted in.

From the outside barrier, NAVAS was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

In the early stages, despite being ridden along, HONEST HORSE failed to muster speed.

Passing the 1200 Metres, PERFECT LIFELINE was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside GREEN CARD (S Clipperton) which shifted in marginally.

S Clipperton was severely reprimanded and advised that whilst GREEN CARD did not shift a great deal of ground in this incident, nonetheless it was sufficient to crowd the racing room of PERFECT LIFELINE, causing the rider of that horse to take hold of his mount.

He was further advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in future.

Making the turn near the 900 Metres, LUCKY GUY got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover behind BEAT THE CLOCK.

NONE OTHER, which was following, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY GUY and near the 900 Metres got its head on the side and shifted out.

Passing the 800 Metres, UP AND CONING momentarily raced tight inside BEAUTY FLARE which was awkwardly placed behind PERFECT LIFELINE.

Passing the 600 Metres, NONE OTHER (M L Yeung) got its head on the side and lay out.

M L Yeung stated that rounding the turns NONE OTHER did not appear comfortable in its action.

The performance of NONE OTHER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, NONE OTHER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Approaching the 300 Metres, UP AND COMING and NAVAS were hampered when racing tight between HONEST HORSE which shifted in and NONE OTHER which shifted out when giving ground.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on HONEST HORSE at the request of Trainer T P Yung.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, HONEST HORSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

BEAT THE CLOCK and GREEN CARD were sent for sampling.
