Recap by phillip woo

Downgrade for the run, Vanilla easily reeled in the leader 250m out following a midfield run and drew clear to win going away by 10. He appeared to have this race in mind for some time but will find it harder with a return to Class Three. Gold Dragon finished well after travelling fifth from the rear near the inside to grab second 100m out. He's near a bottom following placings in two of his past three starts. Consistent defied a deep run without cover travelling fore of midfield to hold down a placing at odds. He could get away with a dirt race in this grade if he draws a gate or wait for a downgrade off a big weight. Flying Machine kept on all right after tracking a hot pace. Diamond Friends was eating up the ground late after making his run at the tail of the field. It was his best effort of the season but he'll need to prove it's not just a one-off performance. Firming favourite Dragon Harmony went too quickly on the lead and was stopping 200m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (350)-MORSE PARK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Metres

At declaration time, M L Yeung was declared as the rider of both VANILLA and CONSISTENT.

It was established that M L Yeung had a firm commitment to ride VANILLA.

As such, the Stewards permitted M Chadwick to be substituted as the rider of CONSISTENT.

For this declaration error, Trainer T P Yung was fined $2,000.

FLYING MACHINE began awkwardly.

GOLD DRAGON began only fairly.

From wide barriers, DIAMOND FRIENDS, GOOD FIT and DIGITAL PIONEER were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, CONSISTENT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ENREACHING.

Approaching the 600 Metres, ENREACHING was steadied away from the heels of KITAYA which came under pressure.

Near the 450 Metres, ENREACHING and AUTUMN GOLD raced tight.

For the majority of the race, CONSISTENT travelled wide and without cover.

The performances of AUTUMN GOLD and KITAYA, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, AUTUMN GOLD and KITAYA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of DRAGON HARMONY, J Moreira stated that the horse travelled strongly in the early and middle stages as it usually does in its races.

He said after being ridden along rounding the Home Turn, DRAGON HARMONY initially quickened satisfactorily, however, passing the 300 Metres came under pressure and after this weakened out of the race.

A veterinary inspection of DRAGON HARMONY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of DRAGON HARMONY, a favourite for tonight's race, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON HARMONY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of ENREACHING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

DRAGON HARMONY, VANILLA and GOLD DRAGON were sent for sampling.
