Recap by phillip woo

Bravo Watchman assumed the front 600m out after tracking the leader on the outside fence and drew clear for an impressive debut win as the firming second favourite. He's a nice type and will get further with maturity. Multigogo was up on the speed and kept on gamely for second in a pleasing debut as well. He'll be picking up a sprint win in no time. Indigenous Star came on well from behind midfield to fill a placing. He's run well in both starts over the straight 1,000m but is still learning and will likely prefer longer trips when coming to hand. Bumble Baby stayed on without ever looking a threat following a run fore of midfield near the centre of the course. The big weight continues to hold him back following an opening win this term. Robust Momentum only held his ground after travelling underneath Bumble Baby in the run. He's an honest sprinter but is likely on his mark following a win two back over the 1,200m. Favourite Corre Rapido weakened tamely 220m out after chasing the speed in third. The debutant might have had some unknown issues after showing promise in lead-up trials.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (391)-CINERARIA HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

Whilst in the saddling stalls, CORRE RAPIDO had its left hind plate refitted.

CORRE RAPIDO was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

TELECOM TITAN was checked at the start when crowded between HURRICANE KID and EXPONETS which shifted out abruptly.

MR ORIOLE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MULTIGOGO which jumped inwards.

This resulted in both horses becoming unbalanced.

INDIGENOUS STAR began only fairly and shortly after the start was shifted out across the heels of LONDON MASTER after racing tight outside BUMBLE BABY.

On a number of occasions over the final 400 Metres, MR ORIOLE shifted ground when placed under pressure.

When questioned regarding the performance of CORRE RAPIDO, Z Purton stated that he was able to obtain a good position on the horse in the early stages, however, CORRE RAPIDO came under pressure to maintain its position passing the 700 Metres.

He said, despite being ridden out approaching the 400 Metres, CORRE RAPIDO gave ground noticeably over the concluding stages.

He added that whilst the horse was disappointing, he was of the view that CORRE RAPIDO would be better suited over longer than the 1000 Metres of today??s race.

A veterinary inspection of CORRE RAPIDO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of LONDON MASTER immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

CORRE RAPIDO, BRAVO WATCHMAN and MULTIGOGO were sent for sampling.
