Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Hero Time raced clear at the 150m following a box-seat run to ring up a second straight win from five starts. He's still learning but should hold his own off a light weight in Class Three. Leisured Feet just held off Split Of A Second for second after stalking the leader Nice Fandango. He appreciated a return to the course and distance of an earlier runner-up effort off a higher mark. Split Of A Second closed off well following a rail run behind midfield to make it close for second. He's naturally coming to hand in his four starts and can pop up at any time. Golden Glory had his chance but only stayed on level for fourth with Call Me Awesome as the post-time favourite. He's honest but has trouble winning in this grade. Call Me Awesome came on reasonably well after a deep run worse than midfield in a pleasing first run back following a bleeding attack but requires 1,400m or a mile. Nice Fandango folded last 100m after dictating a steady pace.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (532) - GREEN LANE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

COUR VALANT was withdrawn on 27.3.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MY HONEY (M Chadwick).

Before being allowed to race again, COUR VALANT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

MY HONEY and NUMERO UNO bumped on jumping.

A short distance after the start, MY HONEY was checked when crowded for room between NUMERO UNO which shifted in after becoming unbalanced and DIAMOND LEGEND which was taken out by TRAVEL SUCCESSOR which shifted ground after being bumped by LEISURED FEET.

After this, from wide barriers, DIAMOND LEGEND, MY HONEY and NUMERO UNO were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

INVESTOR BOOM shifted out shortly after the start and bumped the hindquarters of SPLIT OF A SECOND, causing both horses to become unbalanced.

Near the 650 Metres, GOLDEN GLORY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LEISURED FEET.

CALL ME AWESOME, which was following GOLDEN GLORY, commenced to travel keenly and had to be checked away from the heels of that horse approaching the 600 Metres.

For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, DIAMOND LEGEND was awkwardly placed behind GOLDEN GLORY when being shifted to the outside of that horse in an attempt to improve between GOLDEN GLORY and CALL ME AWESOME.

Then near the 150 Metres, DIAMOND LEGEND was directed to the inside of GOLDEN GLORY when unable to improve between CALL ME AWESOME and GOLDEN GLORY which shifted out under pressure.

As DIAMOND LEGEND had not established running to the outside of GOLDEN GLORY, no further action was taken.

Throughout the race, FOREVER KINDNESS travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of MY HONEY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GOLDEN GLORY, HERO TIME and LEISURED FEET were sent for sampling.
