Recap by phillip woo

Right Choice just held on by a whisker after fighting back to reclaim the lead 280m out from Time To Celebrate, who had hit the front 400m out, to ring up a fifth straight win from six starts despite a rise in class and distance. He's real smart and remains one to follow. Time To Celebrate just failed to salute after looking the winner 400m out pressing Right Choice for the lead to his outside. The huge swing in the weights was the difference in the end. Sichuan Dar dived late following a midfield to finish a close third. He's near a bottom but is more effective over the Valley 1,650m. Jade Fortune edged Winning Faith to finish a close fourth following a handy run. It was one of his better Sha Tin efforts but like the latter, he's more effective at the Valley or even on the dirt. Winning Faith ran on late from near the back to just miss the frame. He's honest but is on his mark. Dances With Dragon was badly held up over the final 100m and should have finished closer.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (526) - THE KOWLOON CRICKET CLUB CENTENARY CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1600Meters

DANCES WITH DRAGON and SACRED IBIS were slow to begin.

From the outside barrier, WINNING FAITH was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

EASY GO EASY WIN got its head up on a number of occasions approaching and passing the 1300 Metres when being steadied to obtain cover.

After the 1300 Metres, EPIC was left racing wide and without cover.

Approaching the 100 Metres, DANCES WITH DRAGON was steadied and shifted to the inside of TIME TO CELEBRATE when unable to improve to the outside of that horse as a result of JADE FORTUNE racing outside DANCES WITH DRAGON.

After being shifted to the inside of TIME TO CELEBRATE, DANCES WITH DRAGON was then checked near the 50 Metres when disappointed for running between TIME TO CELEBRATE and RIGHT CHOICE where there was insufficient room.

DANCES WITH DRAGON then remained held up for clear running and consequently was not able to be properly tested.

Near the 100 Metres, EASY GO EASY WIN, which was hanging out, was checked when crowded for room between JADE FORTUNE which shifted out and SICHUAN DAR which became unbalanced after being bumped by WINNING FAITH (G van Niekerk) which shifted in under pressure.

Whilst the Stewards found that there were a number of circumstances associated with this incident, in particular the racing manners of EASY GO EASY WIN, nonetheless G van Niekerk was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in and make contact with SICHUAN DAR which resulted in that horse becoming unbalanced.

Close to the finishing line, SICHUAN DAR and WINNING FAITH raced tight.

After the race, Z Purton (EASY GO EASY WIN) stated that his mount hung out from the 500 Metres and proved difficult to ride in the Straight as it continued to lay out.

A veterinary inspection of EASY GO EASY WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

Also after the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that WINNING FAITH was mildly lame in its right front leg.

A veterinary inspection of SACRED IBIS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

RIGHT CHOICE and TIME TO CELEBRATE were sent for sampling.
