Favourite Pleasant Endeavor wound up very late to get up in the last stride after a one-out, one-back run for a second win from three starts. He took a while to wind up and might be crying out for a further trip going forward. Monster Kaka did everything but get the win after hitting the front close to home following a one-off run in midfield. It was his best run to date following a return to a tongue-tie under the guidance of Joao Moreira. Punted late, Sight Hero wouldn't go down without a fight dictating the run from a wide gate. He is heading in the right direction after showing promise in two of four earlier runs. Eligere was yielding ground over the last 200m after briefly finding the lead 300m out prompting the pace from gate 14. He's not reliable but can produce a big run now and then. Well-backed late, Thunderstrike made good ground late after a rails run behind midfield to nearly fill a quartet spot. It was a good effort on debut. Happy Gathering had his chance following a box-seat run. He's still learning the ropes.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (555) - LUGARD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

HAPPY GATHERING shifted out at the start and brushed HERE WE GO.

PRIME STAR was bumped on jumping by ALL YOU KNOW which shifted in.

DESTINE JEWELLERY shifted in abruptly at the start despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in DAZZLING FEELING being crowded for room and losing ground.

After this, from a wide barrier, DAZZLING FEELING was shifted across behind runners.

Shortly after the start, VICTORY MORE got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover.

Making the turn near the 900 Metres, DAZZLING FEELING was bumped and crowded for room inside PRIME STAR which got its head on the side and shifted in away from BRILLIANT CHINA.

BRILLIANT CHINA then made the turn awkwardly, shifted out and inconvenienced DESTINE JEWELLERY.

After the 900 Metres, WON BALL was left racing wide and without cover.

For some distance in the early and middle stages, ALL YOU KNOW got its head on the side and lay in.

Passing the 50 Metres, THUNDERSTRIKE was shifted out from behind MONSTER KAKA to continue improving.

Then passing the winning post, THUNDERSTRIKE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of PLEASANT ENDEAVOR.

A veterinary inspection of WON BALL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of DAZZLING FEELING immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

PLEASURE ENDEAVOR and MONSTER KAKA were sent for sampling.
