Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (701) - DEEP BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
JUMBO GOAL was withdrawn on 24.5.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front tendon injury).
Before being allowed to race again, JUMBO GOAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
HONG KONG WIN began only fairly and then was checked shortly after the start when crowded for room between TRIPLE TRIPLE and HARMONY N BLESSED which was taken out by EQUALETTA BLITZ which initially shifted out away from PARTY WARRIOR and then shifted out further after becoming unbalanced as a result of bumping HARMONY N BLESSED.
ADIOS shifted in at the start and bumped CALIFORNIA FOREST.
ADIOS then shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of SPECIAL M.
Approaching the 600 Metres, ADIOS was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 300 Metres, SPECIAL M was awkwardly placed outside the heels of EQUALETTA BLITZ which shifted out.
After the 300 Metres, HONG KONG BET got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.
In the Straight, HARMONY N BLESSED lay in under pressure.
A veterinary inspection of HONG KONG WIN and RESOLUTE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
HARMONY N BLESSED, EQUALETTA BLITZ and ADIOS were sent for sampling.

Equaletta Blitz shot clear near the 100m after a one-out, one-back run to land a betting move. He had shown some spark in his past few runs at both tracks and took full advantage of gate three. Adios ran on well after a deep run behind midfield to just touch off Hong Kong Bet for second. It was an eye-catching debut effort. Hong Kong Bet grudgingly gave way after assuming the lead 150m out following a pace-stalking run. He's very honest and it was a fine effort following a suspensory injury in December. Party Warrior just failed to place after a box-seat run. He rarely produces a bad run but had no excuse here. Special M ran on steadily to share fourth after slotting one-off travelling midfield from a wide draw. The big weight and tricky gate took its toll. Favourite Harmony N Blessed weakened over the last 100m after working hard to lead only narrowly from Hong Kong Bet at the 800m. He's at his best left alone in front and the big weight did not help. Triple Triple stayed on without menacing after a rails run in midfield. He's a Class Four horse and prefers 1,200m. Hong Kong Bet never got involved from towards the rear. He's beyond his better days.
