Race Five : (498) - THE IRELAND TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 HOSS (H055) A Atzeni After the race, A Atzeni stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but despite riding his mount along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to do so.
He added in the Home Straight HOSS finished the race off in a one-paced manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 ERNEST FEELING (E209) A Hamelin After the 250 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running between KILINDINI and ALLOY KING.
Horse No 3 WOOD ON FIRE (C460) H T Mo Near the 150 Metres was contacted across its head by the whip of M L Yeung, the rider of ALLOY KING.
Horse No 4 KING ECCELLENTE (G264) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 KILINDINI (E236) Y L Chung Knuckled over shortly after the start.
Near the 100 Metres Apprentice Y L Chung dropped his right rein as he pulled his whip through to his right hand and did not regather the rein until near the winning post.
As this was the third occasion Apprentice Chung had dropped his rein, he was issued with a warning.
Horse No 6 RUNNING BOY (J041) K De Melo Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was steadied away from SUPER EAGLE.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race.
Horse No 9 ALLOY KING (D287) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 COLONEL (D090) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 HARMONY N HOME (C531) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) A Badel Jumped awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

King Eccellente showed a good turn of foot to win going away after travelling fourth last from a wide draw. The writing was on the wall following seconds in two of his past four starts. Harmony N Home came with a bold move with one wider out to easily take second after a patient ride second last from gate seven. He's always a chance over this Valley trip. Smashed in betting to jump favourite, Colonel kept on gamely for third after dictating the run from gate one. He was able to back up a win seven days ago in Class Five. Ernest Feeling ran on steadily for fourth without threatening the top three followin g a run on the rail in midfield. He was able to build on an below-par effort last start. Early favourite Kilindini weakened after stalking the pace. He's limited. Super Eagle faltered after settling in the box seat. It was a below-par performance, but he has had a lot racing. Tactical Command ran on after fading back to last from a wide draw. He couldn't offset the draw with a return to Class Four after a win. Hoss never came on from towards the rear. It was another disappointing effort despite a downgrade.
