Race Nine : (775) - LAPIS LAZULI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 BUNDLE OF CHARM (G213) A Hamelin Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 CELESTIAL HERO (K363) H Bowman Near the 300 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between SUPER JOY N FUN and JUSTIFYING which shifted in.
Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres CELESTIAL HERO was then held up for clear running when improving into a narrow run between JUSTIFYING and MASTER CHAMPION which was racing tight to the inside of BUNDLE OF CHARM which shifted in.
Horse No 3 LUCKY EIGHT (G204) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.
After the event A Atzeni stated that his mount was disadvantaged by being obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SUPER INFINITY (J320) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid SUPER JOY N FUN when racing keenly.
Approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind SUPER JOY N FUN.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SUPER JOY N FUN (J164) C L Chau After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on SUPER JOY N FUN at the request of Trainer T P Yung.
The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, SUPER JOY N FUN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 WIN EASE (K384) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 8 TIER FLY (K311) M F Poon Trainer K L Man advised that from a wide barrier he had instructed Jockey M F Poon to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Horse No 9 BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) Y L Chung Shortly after the start shifted out and made contact with LUCKY EIGHT.
Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 MASTER CHAMPION (K266) H T Mo Approaching the 200 Metres was hampered when racing tight between BUNDLE OF CHARM and CELESTIAL HERO, both of which shifted ground.
Horse No 11 ONE MAN SHOW (K409) M Chadwick When being shifted in to obtain cover approaching the 900 Metres raced keenly and was steadied to avoid LUCKY EIGHT for some distance thereafter.
Horse No 13 JUMBO TREASURE (K249) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 14 SAVVY WARRIOR (K257) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After clearing the field to lead at the 900m marker, Jumbo Treasure kept up a good gallop after straightening three lengths on top for a second win from six starts. Bundle Of Charm found one too good after a prominent run one off the fence from gate nine. He appreciated a return to the course and distance of four past wins. Favourite Super Infinity was doing his best work late near the inside for third after making his run five back along the inside. It was another honest performance. Punted late, Celestial Hero ran on well for fourth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was an improved effort wearing cheekpieces with a step up to 1,200m at his second local start. Super Joy N Fun made a steady bid for fifth after a rail run from midfield. Justify was on his tippy toes 150m out after getting headed for the lead 900m out.
