Lung, who moved to the Netherlands as a child, became a children’s book illustrator in Belgium, where he was the first Chinese artist to win the national Illustration Award. His work, deeply influenced by Nordic folklore, includes ’The Monsters’ series, launched in 2015. He transitioned into toy design, collaborating with How2work and later Pop Mart, propelling Labubu’s global success.
