Michael Chang Chun-wai has been good at finding the key to performed imports and Forgive And Forget should be in the winner's circle in no time.

Forgive And Forget joined the Chang yard after a two-race stint as Zigzag in New Zealand, where he finished an unlucky fifth in his debut over 1,400m at Awapuni, before showing a good turn of foot to open his account over a mile on a good surface.

Chang had the five-year-old step out three times at the back end of last season, staying on late to finish seventh in both his 1,200m runs at Sha Tin and then Happy Valley, before stepping up over a more ideal mile trip at the final city course meeting when a closing three-length fourth behind Fortune Winner.

With regular pilot Eddie Lai Wai-ming on board this time in the Class Three Sheung Tak Handicap (1,650m), Forgive And Forget was found late in the betting - $83 to $58 second choice behind favourite Enthusing.

He travelled a bit keenly early on, turning the final bend about five lengths down. With three runners outside him, he switched off the heels of Noble Deluxe at the 250m and was hitting the line with purpose to finish three-quarters of a length behind all-the-way winner Easy To Rich, and clocking a sterling 22.37 seconds for the final 400m.

He's a son of Bahhare, who effectively produced winners at a mile or further while siring nine winners from 10 other starters, including the good Group performing stayer Best Gift and last season's multiple winners Wrath Of Fire and Shiny Day. To back up his stamina-laden pedigree, he's out of a mare by the stamina influential Pentire and is a half-brother to two winners, including Raphael, a Group winner in Singapore up to 2,000m.
