General Winner is a 21-start maiden but better than his raw results suggest. He steps up to a suitable mile trip, and his jockey, Andrea Atzeni, rides the all-weather circuit well. He is an each-way play. Boom Alliance kicked off this season with two good runs over this course and distance before misfiring over 1,400m. He must be a chance down in Class Five for the first time. Fiery Flying drops in distances and makes his dirt debut, but he is itching to salute with placings in all three of his races this term. He should get every opportunity from gate two. Starship Eighty did not feature over 2,000m last time but stayed on for minor cheques in his first five starts this season, including a closing C&D third. He is one for the shortlist.
BOOM ALLIANCE (G220) in the early stages was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. Approaching the 1000M commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from a runner. In the middle stages continued to race keenly and passing the 600M was taken out - Race 162.
ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194) shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced - Race 189.
DIAMOND FOREVER (H194) in the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1100M was steadied away from a runner - Race 138.
FIERY FLYING (G090) jumped only fairly - Race 158.
SUPER CONTENTED (H251) in the early stages was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. Near the 1200M, whilst racing keenly, was steadied to avoid heels. Near the 900M was briefly crowded. Passing the 200M was directed out to continue into clear running - Race 195.
DEVIL AND GOLD (G443) on jumping bumped - Race 195.
PRECISION GOAL (H016) shortly after the start was steadied when crowded. Near the 600M became unbalanced when crowded. A short distance later was then steadied - Race 188.
GENERAL WINNER (E376) from the 900M raced wide and without cover. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 195.
SPICY SKEWER (G202) in the early stages was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Finished tailed out and performance was considered unacceptable. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 675.
CHIRON (E151) in the early stages was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier - Race 150.
STARSHIP EIGHTY (H022) was slow to begin - Race 158.
STAR OF GLORY (E316) jumped awkwardly. For the majority of the event raced wide and without cover - Race 111.
GREEN LASER (E409) shortly after the start was bumped - Race 111.
SPICY SKEWER (G202) 21/05/2023 Unacceptable performance. (passed on 17/10/2023).
Spicy Skewer finished second in the latest of his three trials ahead of his first race since May 21.
