Visiting Australian jockey Tommy Berry rode two winners of a John Moore four-timer but left with a lengthy suspension to serve after failing to ride Smart Man to the line in the last.
Stewards served Berry with a 10-meeting suspension for a breach of Rule 100(2) that will see him return three days before the Group One Hong Kong Classic Mile.
The Classic Mile is likely to be the next start for Able Friend, one of his winners yesterday along with Let Me Go, but Berry isn't guaranteed the ride.
Able Friend will join Moore's other "class of 2014" Hong Kong hopefuls Flagship Shine, who won earlier in the day, and Designs On Rome in the Classic Mile on January 19. Despite the talented trio all being set for the race, Moore refused to commit to who would ride the horses.
"There's no jockey fixed on Able Friend for the Derby or Classic Mile. I'll have three runners on that day, but there's a lot of water to flow under the bridge before then," he said. "We've got three very good horses and it is exciting, but I'm not going to split them and say who I think is best, we will let them race off set weights in the Classic Mile and see."
Carrying 131 pounds in Class Two, Able Friend powered to a two-length victory from stablemates Rewarding Hero and Majestic Falcon, and even though it looked impressive, Moore is setting the bar high for the son of Shamardal.
"He is looking the real deal but we have Group One aspirations for this horse," he said. "And that means he has got to be winning off a rating of 94 or he is not living up to what we think of him."
Earlier, Flagship Shine did his four-year-old series claims no harms with an effortless 3-1/4 length win over 1,400m off a rating of 107.
In the opening event Paul O'Sullivan's Aerovelocity caused a boilover when he held out even money favourite Silly Buddies in a close finish, giving Zac Purton the first leg of a double.
John Size followed his Mile success with a win to Glorious Sunday to take him 10 wins clear in the trainers' championship.
