Trainer Danny Shum Chap-shing has been fined HK$75,000 by stewards and issued a severe reprimand for his part in a pair of verbal stoushes that were both caught on video and circulated online.

Shum was levelled with the fine after he was seen lambasting regulatory vet Peter Schiff in English on August 21, in videos taken from nearby stables during a veterinary examination of one of Shum's horses at his stable.

The trainer was also given a severe reprimand for his part in another skirmish, this time in Cantonese, with the head lad allocated to his stable, Yung Sui-man, on August 29.

One of the videos of the argument with Schiff was placed on social media sharing website YouTube and came to the attention of stewards, while another angle of the incident was sent to stipes from a third party.

Shum was charged under Rule 155 (5) in that "he did conduct himself in an improper manner" and had directed abusive and inappropriate language at Schiff.

Shum and his head lad Yung also came under the scrutiny of stewards for a similar fiery incident between the pair on August 29, one that had also been recorded by onlookers and widely circulated.

Yung was advised that a report into his participation in the exchange would be forwarded to stables management for consideration.

Meanwhile, Brett Prebble was officially cleared to ride at tomorrow night's meeting at Happy Valley after he missed Sunday's season opener with minor bumps and bruises sustained in a fall at Saturday morning's barrier trials at the city course.

Prebble was also cleared to take the ride on Gai Waterhouse-trained Speak Fondly, a Group Two winner last weekend, in the Group One Golden Rose on Saturday at Rosehill.
