Australian jockey Christian Reith will end his riding contract after Saturday's Sha Tin meeting, almost a month ahead of schedule. Reith was contracted until February 1, but the Jockey Club’s licensing committee agreed to release him at his request.

He has ridden two winners from 111 rides this season, and has four rides on Saturday.

The panel also said Maxime Guyon’s short-term contract, which starts on January 1, will be shortened by two meetings and now ends on February 21. Guyon, who returns for his first contract in three years, made a hit-and-run visit last weekend to win the Hong Kong Vase on Flintshire.
